First A Poetical Response to Negative Understandings.
Those who wish to see those marble stones lie
in the halls of the British Museum, for the rest of time.
All that this one person can only say in the here and now is...
Return them, they are not yours to claim, never were and never will they be.
You see,
They belong to the building itself, the Parthenon and the goddess Athena, not you or I.
She is calling for their return, has been since they were hacked from her temple, by your Lord Elgin.
In fact those who hear her still crying in the streets, now shout out loud and whisper in everyone’s ear…. yes....you will return them.
You see,
It is only a matter of time, for one day they will come back to where they once were.
You see,
The temple itself shout out for them, as if those stones could spread wings and just fly.
Those ancient stones would not go anywhere else except the Acropolis
You see,
That is where they belong.
Like a magnate they are pulled back to the east and then south to the Aegean Sea.
Pulled by history, to Acadia to Athens and Attica to sit once more under the sun so shadows of that light can give those old stones a rebirth which we all wait for.
The rebirth of ancient wisdom revisited again and again down through each age gone.
Our age does the same, questioning everything trying to find the truth, not just you.
It is all over the internet, common knowledge for anyone to find. No longer exclued to those that believe they be the great thinkers. The common person can find and learn.
It is just,
Britain and your Museum who believe they belong to you to do as you will.
Funny thing is, you did not make them. Therefore you do not own them.
Was it you that carved each marble to sit upon the Frieze or Metope?
Was it you who hauled the rocks from the quarry?
No it wasn't.
So to honour the Ancients who did,
we should respect that at least
and send these ancient stone back to where they were made.
You see,
Your blind to this truth.
We must give these stone a true purpose of their content of that story that is the togetherness of the Parthenon .
That ancient building, built to celebrate the festivals of that ancient religion.
Built to honour those who gave their lives fighting for that city state.
Built for the people of that time to know their history and be proud.
Just put yourselves in the shoes of another being for a while, and think about it long and hard.
If someone came to your shores when under occupation of someone else
