Parthenon Marbles

We all must Pull Together Part 9

If we stand divided the marbles will not return to their home

but stay in pieces in dark halls for never ending years long.

Only if we work together will they come home.

Back to the only place  one Earth where they belong.

No one single nation can claim them as their own

Only a place, on the Acropolis can offer them a true home.

This purpose built museum is where they should reside 

As this is the respect that all nations must abide by. 

And together we must stand with one voice 

We must speak of one thing only, the choice 

Of one place on Earth to show the respect 

For Ancient Classical Greek Art and Architecture 

One building, one place do they belong 

As close as possible to the Parthenon 

The only place on Earth that they need to reside 

Is in the Acropolis Museum side by side. 

Side by side for ever as they were meant 

To allow the truth to be seen and sent 

To all Philhellenes and every Western Nation  

Only together can they send out their jubilation

Of celebration of the Ancient Greek Ideals 

Of Philosophy, Democracy in hand with science and innovation.

So no longer allow egoistical thinking  to divide 

But stand together side by side, side by side.

Just as the Marbles themselves should be 

So the whole world can see their true history. 

The Modern Greeks feel as if they belong to them

Each nation of western thought wish to own them 

But it must be acknowledged no one nation can claim them.

For they belong to place alone and that is the Acropolis Museum.

One building, one place do they belong

As close as possible to the Parthenon

The only place on Earth that they need to reside

Is in the Acropolis Museum side by side. 

* NB ( I wish to acknowledge the right to Cultural Artifacts by the Greek Modern Nation

But also understand,the universal understanding of the Parthenon Marbles 

and how they have been part of the development of our shared  Western  cultural thought.

Therefore, it is this that has to be acknowledged: the Marbles belong to themselves and the Parthenon and must be returned  out of the respect of our shared culture to their original home.) 

(This is how I see them return.  A united call from the Western Nations to have our shared culture Respected!)
