I walked with Seth to the auditorium, holding hands, so he can get his cap and gown for graduation. "I can't believe you'll graduate in a few weeks," I said to him, squeezing his hand and smiling.
"I can hardly believe it either to be honest," Seth said. "This year flew by fast."
We walked up to the table, where Yasmin was sitting. She was in charge of handing out the cap and gowns. "Name please," she said to Seth.
Seth chuckled. "You know my name, Yasmin," he said.
She rolled her eyes. "Yeah but not your last name."
"The name's Walker, Seth Walker." Seth and I laughed at his James Bond reference while Yasmin rolled her eyes again. I never understood why she was always snappy and angry looking all the time. A few times I wanted to ask if her PMS acted up 24/7 but I knew that wouldn't be a good outcome. The only time she acted nicer was when she was around Clarissa and Addison; even when around Melody, she only tolerated her.
"You would make a cute James Bond," I said to him.
He raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "I act nothing like him. Do you see how many women he ends up with?"
I laughed. "Well you could be a different type of James Bond that doesn't end up with many women. Being different is a good thing." We grinned at each other and kissed.
Yasmin made a disgusted face and popped her bubblegum. "Ugh do that weird flirting thing somewhere else," she said, handing Seth his cap and gown. I'm surprised she didn't roll her eyes since she did that all the time. I wonder if she ever saw her brain back there since she did it so often.
We laughed and walked away. We went over to Dylan, who was sitting at a chair, spacing out. "Yo," Seth said to him as we sat down. All he did was nod.
When I looked over at Dylan, I could tell something was bugging him. He didn't look particularly happy. "What's wrong Dyl?" I asked him, looking slightly concerned.
Dylan sighed. "I didn't get accepted into NYU and I applied to some other colleges and I never back from them," he said, brushing his hair back in frustration.
"Oh that sucks," I said. Dylan really wanted to go to NYU since freshman year but now that he's not accepted, he was crushed. "I know you don't want to hear this but there are plenty of other colleges and universities you can apply to. Some school will accept you and then you'll be okay and do great over there. Just give it time."
"I can't believe I'm bummed out over a college." He paused for a moment and sighed. "I guess I'm also bummed out because of Amy. I'll be going over to a college, who knows where, and she'll be here finishing up high school."
I almost gasped. How did I not think of this before? Where is Seth going after high school anyways? I can't believe we haven't discussed this yet! I cleared my throat before saying anything. "Well you can always apply to a local college too and then eventually you can finish up at a university later."
His face lit up. "You're right! There's no way they could deny me at a local college. Why haven't I thought of that before? You're a genius, Ky!" He grinned as he got up out of his seat. "I have a few college applications to fill out. Bye." He walked away.
Seth sighed and now it was his turn to look bummed out. "Ky, there's something I have to tell you," he started to say.
I nodded. "Go on," I said.
"I got accepted to UF...University of Florida."
My stomach felt like it dropped. "That's...great." I faked a smile. This is what sucks about dating a senior, when they graduate they go off to different colleges and universities. What will happen now?
