CHAPTER ONE

I've been gay for as long as I can remember. I feel like my life has been messed up by this. I'm the only gay at my school from what I know. I don't think I'll ever find anyone like me.

I pull my covers over my face. Then push them back down and look at my clock on the wall next to my door. 7:00... Ugh I actually hate school so much. Every school day, sprint to my locker before the straight tormentors get to me. I don't like to speak of what they do, or what their names are. I don't think they deserve their names to be spoken of anyway.

I get up anyway, I believe you could almost mistaken me as a zombie, what with the state I'm in. I walk out of my room and into the kitchen where my mum is making breakfast. 'Do I have to go to school?' I grunt resting my head in my hands. 'Yes, of course you do sweetie have you any idea how much money I'm paying for you?' I grunt once again at her response. I get up and walk back into my room and stop at my door frame Why did I stay up so late reading fan-fiction. Idiot.

I get changed into my school uniform. In the process tripping over a loose sock. My uniform is a faded blue shirt with navy blue shorts. I run and quickly brush my straight black hair. Isn't it funny how my hair's straight, but I'm not.

I race and grab my bag from the dining table and walk out the door 'what about breakfast!' Mum yells from the kitchen. 'I'm not hungry! I'll eat at school!' I yell back already out the door. I live to close to the school for my mum to have to drop me off, and definitely to close for a bus. So I walk.

As I walk I take in the fabulous smell of my neighbour hood. Dog shit and grass, mmmm.

As I get closer to the school I see a bunch of boys at the school gates kicking something. I suspect they're torturing someone... As usual. I try to walk past the group, but one of them catch my eye. I immediately look away and quicken my pace

To late.

One grabs my arm, and before I know what's happening. I'm being shoved to the ground. I look up in time to see that other boy sprinting away. From what I saw, that boy had brown straight hair. But that's all I saw.

'Oi, faggot' one of the boys say. I look up and scowl at them all. My back pressed against one of the buildings. As I'm about to subtly move away one boy kicks me square in the mouth.

I can feel blood practically being drawn from my mouth. I don't know wether it's coming from my teeth, or from my lip. But I don't care. All I know is that I have to get away from these boys.
