"Riley, wake up!" Lucy shakes me awake, and I roll over onto my stomach.
"No," I groan.
"Fine," she says, and I feel her weight leave my bed. I smile and nuzzle my head into my pillow. Suddenly, I hear running feet and Lucy shout as she jumps on me. Her weight is too much for my poor, frail little lungs, and when she lands I get all the breath knocked out of me.
"Ow, Lucy what the hell?" I push her of me and my bed and she thumps on the carpeted floor, laughing histerically.
I throw off my navy douvet, sit up on my bed and crawl towards the end. I lean over the edge and rummage through my trunk until I find the clothes I want to wear. I pull on my robes, grab my makeup bag and walk over to the vanity that we all bought for the common room. We, the girls in Ravenclaw, all wanted a nice mirror space, so we each pitched in about ten galleons each to buy one for the entire dormitory to use. It can fit about five girls sitting next to each other on the plush bench that came with it, and there are enough drawers so that we can each have one to ourselves.
I sit down in the middle and begin to slowly go through my routine until Lucy comes up behind me.
"You do realize we have fifteen minutes to get to class right?"
"Shit," I say and my hands fly as I do a simple but pretty look. I shove my bag into my drawer and leap over to my trunk, grabbing my books, quills and parchment. Lucy and I jump down the stairs and race off to class. No time to eat breakfast now.
My stomach grumbles and I deeply regret not getting up earlier. Well, sucks to be me.
I make my way down to the dungeon for potions with professor Slughorn.
I enter the classroom and take a seat next to Hermione, the only person I kind of know.We don't really talk, but when Harry and Ron join us, I am forced to make am introduction.
"Riley Stone," I say when they ask my name, "and you are?" I say jokingly to Harry.
"Marlise Dingles," he replies, grinning.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance," I reply, even though everyone knows who he is.
Professor Slughorn begins to give us a lecture on the different uses of dragon's blood in healing potions, but after a couple of minutes I zone out, instead staring at everyone else in the room. My eyes land on Draco, and I quickly look away only to find my gaze return to him. His blond hair is messy and spiked up in various places. The dark circles under his eyes seem to be increasing every day. He looks over to me and our eyes make contact. He flashes me a classic smirk, basically a non verbal way of saying he caught me checking him out. I feel the heat coming up my neck and curse myself for blushing because of him.
Asshole. Who does he think he is, being all flirtatious with me. Ugh, I hate him!! But he's so damn sexy. What the fuck???? No he's not!! He's just using his mind control powers to ruin you. Yeah, that's it. Wait, mind control? Are you serious? I really need to get more sleep. But he is kinda sexy though.... SHUT UP BRAIN!!!!.... Okay, yeah maybe a little....
"Miss Stone are you even paying attention?" Professor Slughorn asks me, riping me from my thoughts.
"No," I say sheepishly.
"Ten points from Ravenclaw."
Whatever.
"Excuse me?" Slughorn asks again.
Holy fuck I said that out loud.
"I believe that's another ten points and detention this evening. I'll be seeing you after class."
