Blake's POV

Laying in my silk bed trying to sleep was impossible. Ruby's face kept flashing back into my mind. I found pretty quick that I was going to have to try to sleep but I found myself unable. The black silk of my bed were drenched in my sweat. The heat of them were unbearable.

Shifting out of the sheets, I noticed my phone's screen lighting up indicating I had a text due to my settings. I didn't want to get my hopes up but I hope Ruby was also having problems sleeping.  My face lit up when I noticed it was from Ruby asking to come over.

I texted saying it was ok and that she needs to be careful coming to my house. Sending her directions and my address. I found myself changing into better sleepwear as to not scare her off. I was only wearing my black bra and panties to sleep in.

Grabbing my kimono that was a gift from my father before he died I tied it and awaited her arrival.

...

Ruby's POV

I couldn't sleep. The cotton was heating up with my body heat causing huge amount of discomfort. Glancing to my charging red and white phone with a rose case I decided to text Blake. I was surprised when she answered quickly it seemed she was having trouble sleeping as well.

I walked into my closet looking for a good pair of clothes to be able to see Blake in. I decided on a red rose shirt with black skirt that came down to my knees. Wrapping my cloak around me to be able to deal with if it was cool outside.

Sneaking out was extremely hard. I had to avoid all the creaky boards between me and the stairs and then down the stairs themselves. I walked quietly avoided the creaky board in front of Yang's bedroom door. I was just about at the stairs when a hand grabbed me back.

Suppressing a  scream I turned and saw the tall figure of my brother with his black hair sent in tangles off to the side his aquamarine eyes shining as he caught me doing something wrong. He dragged me into his room before putting himself between the door and myself.

"Tell me sis where are you sneaking off to?" Omega's eyes locked on mine when he noticed my blush. "Wait do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, brother I don't have a boyfriend I was off to see a friend." I glanced away from him before he placed his finger under my chin and forced me to look him in the eyes.

"You want this friend to be more don't you sis. I won't stop you from seeing them, Just be safe." He moved away from the door allowing me to exit before walking back to his bed.

Sometimes my brother is too overprotective. He can read me like a book though and knew I was going to be persuaded to not go. My boots were near the door and I had to be careful not to have them squeek as I grabbed my keys from the hook to be able to come back inside later.

I walked into the cool air of night as I followed her directions she sent to the phone to the fullest. Once and awhile I had to go into a alley to avoid a patrol car that would ask too many questions. Plus I didn't want to be late to see Blake.

The chill of the wind was about to freeze me back home when I finally arrived at the old oak door of the home that Blake described in her text. I was about to knock when the door opened to reveal Blake wearing a black silk kimono with red rose designs on it. She dragged me inside and allowed me to have a look around.

The house was small but fitted with moderately expensive looking furniture. The couch was made of black leather and the table in the dining room seemed to be the most expensive thing in the house. It was made of black marble that had a smoothness to it that attracted the eye.

Blake noticed me staring at the marble. "My dad had this imported when I was younger." Her voice trembled a little as she said this.

"Blake do you have any family?" I ask my eyes watching her for any reaction to say she was lying.

"N....No." She sobbed as tears streamed down her face as she sat at the table. I walked the few steps and wrapped my arms around her embracing her allowing her tears to soak into my cloak.

It took several minutes before the sobs and tears to stop. "Thanks Ruby." She smiled her eyes still red as she reached for a nearby tissue box that was on the counter. She blow her nose and I couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

I at least had family. Blake was left alone after her family died. She tells me that she went into a deep depression that caused all her friends to abandon her. She also had a really abusive boyfriend that gave her a scar that is on her knee that goes down to the ankle.

She brought me into her bedroom that had the only bed which had black silk sheets that matched her hair so much it blended in. The kimono looked as if it was just made of red roses. She told me why she only had the one bed.

When her parents died, she was so full of grief that she couldn't keep the bed that they used. She inherited the house and a small fortune enough that she won't have to work for the rest of her life. But she found that all she wanted was someone that loved her. That was why she was so desperate with her abusive boyfriend.

The more I listened to her voice the more I want her to be mine.

"Blake I have something to tell you. I believe I want to be more than friends." I watch her closely memorizing her face and eyes.

She smiled bringing me down into her embrace for a kiss that at first was light then was filled with longing.

"I am glad you felt the same." Blake smiled into my eyes and I felt absolute joy as we became more than friends.
