RWBY Lost

Night of Ruby's life part 2.

Blake's POV

Bright lights of various colors were in the nighttime air as the carnival had started. Ruby was wearing a beautiful black shirt that fit tug around her as well as a silver sweatshirt with words that saying 'Keep Calm and pet the kitten.

It highlighted her beautiful silver eyes causing them to gleam with colors of the night and carnival.  Ruby smiled her wonderful smile as she wrapped her hand around my own dragging me into the carnival grounds. 

The smell of popcorn, cotton candy and funnel cakes was intoxicating.  The rides seemed huge as we walked the carnival grounds. Most of the rides had a large line but one didn't have much of a line at all. 

The tunnel of love had the deep red heart gleaming as if begging us to show our love to one another.

"Ruby how about that one?" I blushed pointing to the tunnel as a small boat in the shape of a heart went into the tunnel. The light coming out was a deep pink with a hint of scarlet. 

Ruby looked over a slight blush enveloped her pale skin as she wrapped her hand and half dragged me toward it.

The man working the ride had deep canary yellow hair as well as a monkey tail swinging at his feet. He was also a Faunus by what it seems. He flashed me a grin as he allowed us into the small heart boat that shifted a little into the side as I let Ruby in first.

I put my legs into the boat but proceeded to slip on the water that had splashed up when Ruby got in. I felt like I was flying as I felt my body hit the water soaking me from head to toe. I knew as soon as I got out of this water I would be blushing. 

I was wearing a plain white t shirt and a black latex bra. This was going to get awkward fast with the man seemingly interested in me. I felt like letting the water claim me but two groups of hands grabbed me from the water. Ruby held one side while the man held the others.

He held onto me smiling while telling me to be more careful then he looked down before averting his eyes. He grabbed a towel from the nearby shelf above his terminal that started the ride as he draped it over me to cover my shoulders.

It seemed like I would be embarrassed this entire time. Ruby just smiled as I got into the boat without falling into the water this time thank the gods. I felt myself start to warm up as the man told me the ride was starting. He ducked his head as he seemed to press a button that made the small boat lurch into the tunnel at a small speed.

The sights of the cupids shooting arrows at young couples with the love music I believe it was called Not fall in love you(play the video above on loop) . The scenes of Romeo and Juliet made Ruby awe with me as she placed her head lovingly on my shoulder. 

I know a grin was on my face for the remainder of the ride regardless of whether I was soaking wet or not. Looking at the young face staring ahead of me with her head on my shoulder I could feel my heart pull with emotions that made me glad to be alive and I haven't felt that way in years.

I am so damn lucky to have her. The thought as we enjoyed the remainder of the music and sites of people in love and then into marriage. It felt right to be the first carnival ride we have ridden together. 

The ride finally came to a end as the boat lurched back into the starting position. The man had a grin on his face as we got out.  I took the towel from my shoulder and turned to give it to him. He shook his head.

"Keep it lovebird." Then he winked before letting Ruby leave but before I could he softly grabbed my wrist. 

"You better cherish her alright. I can see you two are deeply in love. Don't screw it up." He then let go of my wrist handing me a small  red rose pendant. "Give that to the girl ok." He then turned to get back to work.

Leaving the tunnel of love entrance I noticed Ruby sitting at a nearby wooden bench. She smiled when she saw me come out.

"What happened Blake?" She seemed worried over me not coming immediately out.

"I... I was stopped by the man to make sure I was not getting hypothermia and he told me to give you this." I handed her the small red rose pendant. She smiled as she was placed the pin through the soft fabric of her shirt then clipped it on.

"How does it look?" Ruby asked as she twirled in a small circle. 

"Amazing." I smiled as wrapped my hand in hers. "What next Ruby? This is your day." I turned my eyes into hers I hope she was enjoying it. I wanted to pay her back for the kindness of taking care of me for weeks with my ankle.

"How about we get some food." She lead me to the concession stands. The smells of popcorn was intoxicating but one smell had a sweet and bitter smell to it. Chocolate... The sweet and bitter aroma must have ensnared Ruby as well as she took me between people.

Until finally it came into view a run down concession stand. A old woman that appeared in her 70's was cooking Chocolate chip cookies. The smell was like heaven I could tell Ruby's mouth was watering as she eyed the cookies.

"How may I help you dearies?" The small older woman asked upon our approach.

"How many would you like Ruby?" I asked as I pulled her to me. Her eyes told me all which she seemed hesitant to say. She should know I have enough money to give her whatever she wants.

"You want them all don't you?" I asked as her she nodded. 

The old woman was taken aback by this. "That will be $170 dearie." I grabbed my wallet that I held inside my small pants pocket. The water had hit the wallet itself pretty hard as it was wringing wet. Luckily though it only made the money a little soggy. Nothing letting it dry won't fix.

"Sorry about the money being a little wet. I feel in the water at the tunnel of love." She just smiled a toothless grin that made her white hair stand on end as she took the money and boxed all the cookies up.

She then bagged them and handed me the cookies. Ruby had a envious look as I opened the box and the aroma hit me like a storm. Steam also rose from the box as I put the bag of boxes on a nearby bench and let Ruby have the first cookie. 

I grabbed one after she devoured her first one and started on the second cookie this time savoring the flavor.

I placed the cookie in my mouth and took a bite. The taste hit me like a tidal wave. I felt like I had gone to food heaven. The rich taste of the chocolate brought good memories of my mom as well. The into the here and now.

I know we will have the best day ever. We will have to come back tomorrow to enjoy more but now we have to get the masterpieces home.
