"Ah, Chat Noir. You found me."

Chat's eyes narrow at the evil being and he readies his fighting stance, prepared for any possible attacks. Hawk Moth lets out a sarcastic sigh as he turns his back on the hero and begins to walk further into the dark room, alluring Chat in behind him.

"It's tragic, really." Hawk Moth'e voice booms throughout the room as the door closes behind Chat's tail. "How one person can cause such...trauma."

"The only person causing trauma here is you," Chat defends the citizens of Paris.

Hawk Moth chuckles, "Young man, you don't understand. Do you?" Chat's eyebrows furrow together at the question. What was he meant to understand? "You don't get it. One single human can cause so much pain with a few hurtful words."

"What are you-"

"I'm sorry Marinette," Hawk speaks slowly and as the name leaves his mouth, Chat's heart aches.

"No-"

"But I'm in love with somebody else."

"No!" Chat screams at the old man. "What does any of this have to do with Marinette? First Ladybug mentions her and now you?"

Hawk Moth lets out a low chuckle, amusement blanketing his features. "Oh, Chat Noir. This has everything to do with Marinette. Marinette and Adrien."

Chat frowns at the names. Him and Marinette?

"And nothing to do with Ladybug."

The hero's gaze snaps up to look at Hawk Moth and the boys eyes widen. "Nothing to do with Ladybug?"

His grip on his baton tightens a fraction.

"But isn't that Ladybug out there? Didn't you send an Akuma to corrupt my lady?" Chat's words seethe out of his mouth as the old man shifts his weight onto his staff.

"My sweet cat, you have to learn to open your eyes." His raspy voice causes Chat's ears to perk. "Love Bug is most definitely Marinette. Maybe you're just mixing up your bugs." Chat's eyes begin to fume at the thought of him messing up.

He couldn't possibly mess up, could he? He's Chat Noir! How would he mess up? As if Marinette was Ladybug... Fat chance!

Chat's pent up anger rushes out of him in a hurry, all of his previous stress and heartache pouring out of him in waves of fury.

Hawk Moth raises his staff as an evil laugh escapes his mouth, spinning the walking-stick designed staff around above his head as Chat charges at the old man with a mighty rage. A warrior cry leaves Chat's lips as he runs towards the man. He pulls out his baton and extends it to the length of Hawk Moth's staff.

The two boy's weapons collide and on impact, the both of them send each other off spiralling backwards.

"You won't get away with this!" Chat cries out as he begins to run at the old man once again. He slices his baton through the air, but before he can hit Hawk Moth, the villain jumps out of the way and gives an evil grin to the cat. He skilfully uses his staff and whacks it into the side of Chat, causing him to grunt in pain and stumble a bit.

"Oh, but I already have." Hawk Moth encounters as another booming laugh leaves his lips and he waves his staff around again, summoning his many pure butterflies. The beautiful creatures morph into the rotten Akuma's at the touch of Hawk Moth. The Akuma's scoops the villain up from the ground and rise him up in the air.

"Don't be such a coward and fight me!" Chat screams out as he attempts to leap for the evil being. Hawk Moth reacts with yet another evil laugh as a hatch opens in the side of the building and the dreadful Akuma's fly Hawk Moth out of the window-like hatch.

"Shit," Chat curses under his breath as he kicks a nonexistent stone on the ground. Chat beats himself up mentally. How could he let that evil prick get away? Why didn't he have the strength to jump and grip into the old man's foot or something? Anything! Why couldn't he do it?!

Chat had felt his strength weaken as the hours had passed, but that couldn't have affected him right? Why was he suddenly becoming weaker? Was it something to do with his lady? Was Ladybug making him weaker by...well, not being Ladybug?

He stares down at his hands as thoughts of Marinette being Ladybug invade his mind. She couldn't possibly be Ladybug. Sure, she has the same hair colour and eye colour and body structure and... Oh dear god. Marinette is Ladybug.

All he needs now, is confirmation.

"He's onto you," Hawk Moth hisses into Love Bug's mind as she awaits her next order. "What's your plan?"

She purses her lips, "He thinks I'm Ladybug, so we'll go with that."

"No, you couldn't possibly." Hawk Moth protests immediately, remembering how he had told Chat that it was in fact Marinette and not his lady.

"And whys that?"

"I had mentioned that you were Marinette. He no longer thinks you're Ladybug, I don't think," Hawk Moth speaks with faltering confidence as his Akuma take him away from his usual hideout.

"Well you should think, god dammit!" Love Bug yells at him through their awkward telepathy. "You should be thinking, old man!"

"Shut your trap before I shut it for you," he hisses back and begins to control her body. She lets out a screech and he stops. "If you don't pull your head together and figure out a plan to get Ladybug and Chat Noir's miraculous, you will no longer be in control of yourself. Got it?"

Hawk Moth's threat has Love Bug gulping as her army of love interests come barricading over the horizon. Love Bug looks elsewhere as the sea of people approach her slowly. "Yes, Hawk Moth."

As the words leave her lips, the villain in purple and grey smirks atop his Akuma flock. He narrows his eyes at the noticeable Akuma-ridden Marinette just below where he sits afloat his plane of evil butterflies.

"Good girl."
