"Hey baby, just calling to see if your doing alright with your aunt. Call back whenever." I left a voice mail for Mason. It's been two weeks since that time he showed up at my house and and a week since I last saw him. He must have a lot on his hands., though I'm beginning to feel set aside.

"Hey Scar, you okay?" Jace's voice comes from behind me. Jace! I turn to face him.

"No, that's the second time I've called him today. I refuse to call him anymore today. He better call me. What is he doing that he can't answer when his girlfriend calls." I rant in practically one breath.

Jace pulled me into a hug. I hugged him tight and put my head on his shoulder. Jace is such a great friend, always there when I need someone. These past few days I haven't seen him or Emily much at all. I miss hanging out with them.

"Jace. What do you say I come over today and we spend the weekend together? I haven't seen you in a bit." I suggested.

"Yeah. Sure." He nodded.

I hugged him and exclaimed "Awesome! I'll be over at six."

After school I went home, did my homework, packed some clothes, and then headed over to Jace's house.

"Hey Scarlett, your early." Jace said when answering the door. He tends to greet me with my name every time we see each other, he's not one for a simple hello.

"Yeah I know, like two hours early. Sorry. I got bored and didn't know what to do for the next couple hours. So here I am" I explained.

"Well come in." Jace took my bag out my hand, letting me in and then walking to his room.

I walked over to the couch where Jace's mom was standing cleaning the coffee table.

"Hey Mrs. Kyle!" I said excited to see her. She turned around and hugged me.

"Hey, are you okay? Jace said you've been feeling down lately." She asked. I nodded and told her I've been having problems with Mason and that I wanted to hang out with Jace to feel happy again.

She smiled and walked off after giving a small remark "Men who care show up sweetie. Remember that."

"So Scarlett what do you want to do?" Jace asked. By this time I had been there for half an hour and we were in his room sitting on the floor just talking for lack of anything better to do.

I looked at him and in that second lost my train of thought.

"Jace, Do you remember when we were little we used to go to the park and swing and swing for hours?" I said softly, smiling.

"Yeah, I remember one day you tried to jump of the swings but your legs were so weak you didn't stick the landing and you insisted you died." He answered smiling back.

"Hey I was convinced I was dead." I defended.

I took off my hoodie and put it next to my things because it was getting warm. I got up and walked to the kitchen closing the bedroom door behind me. I walked into the kitchen and got a glass of water then walked back to the room. Once I was in the room Jace got up and went to the hallway. Confused I followed him to find him grabbing blankets and pillows out of the hall closet. I looked at him in utter confusion.

"We are sleeping in the livingroom this weekend." He turned to me and smiled.

"Oh, okay... Why" I asked.

"Well, would you rather outside in a tent?" He questioned.

"No." I laughed.

I helped him lay out the the blankets and pillows. We stayed up until 4 in the morning. We were  talking, watching tv and laughing, Just like normal, so what was this feeling? Like a hundred dizzy fireflies in my stomach.

I guess I'm happy I'm back to hanging out with him.

The next day we both woke up at almost noon. When I woke up I went straight to the bathroom to take a shower and brush my teeth. I came out the bathroom drying my hair and went to met Jace and his mom in the kitchen where they were talking. As I walked up the hallway I heard a bit of their conversation "Well talk to her about it." his mom said to him "Okay maybe but not soon... next week, maybe" he replied. When I was at the end of the hall they stopped talking and Jace stood up to greet me. I thought that was weird but didn't give more thought to that.

The rest of the weekend was fun and on Sunday we called Emily over.

"Em, stop! Not funny! Em! Stop!" laughing I shouted running away from Emily who was trying to smash a cupcake in my face. I ran behind Jace, who by the way was laughing so hard I thought he was gonna die ,and Emily smashed it in his face instead. Emily and I started bellowing, he went to clean icing and cupcake crumbs of his face.

When he came back Emily and I were still laughing.

"Oh ha ha" He mocked.

"Oh but Jace you were so cute! The icing really brought out the color in your eyes." I laughed. Emily and I were bent over in laughter.

We straightened up and decided to put on some music to randomly dance to and shout the lyrics to.
