I knew he was there before I felt him. I can't tell you how I knew, just that I did. I felt his trembling hands encircle my waist a second before his lightly chapped lips pressed against the side of my neck, where my blood beat against the skin. The texture of his lips send a shiver down my spine and rose goosebumps on my flesh as I tilted my head to the side, giving him more access as my hands laced over his. He must have still felt the tension in my body, triggering him to clamp his teeth into my skin and just hold me tighter while my spine bowed.

"Now that's better." He purred into my ear, the deep tone reverberating across my flesh as I slowly recovered. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him, which only drew a sultry, very much masculine chuckle from his lips.

"How do you do that?" I breathed, leaning more of my weight into him as things spiraled and tightened low in my body.

"Call it a gift." His words sat perfectly between statement and inquiry as he shifted his hands to my biceps and turned me to face him.

I had to lift my face to see his as I only came to his chin, which reminded me of how tall Jax actually was. The light refracted in his mirror-like grey eyes, the same ones that entranced me so when they held blues. I had to manually force myself to look elsewhere besides his lips, the bottom decorated with three almost perfectly spaced piercings. I felt my tongue flick my lip in anticipation as I noted the pearly color the subzero temperature had tinted his lips. I watched those lips purse and raised my eyes to find he was attempting, and failing, to bite back a laugh. I narrowed my eyes but let my fingertips graze up the wool fabric of his blazer and let my hands come to play with the raven locks at the bottom of his neck.

"Well I like the gift." I huffed, almost pouting at his laughter before laying a soft kiss against those lips as I inhaled his delicate scent. It was nothing but male and pheromones as Jax rarely ever wore cologne. I committed that scent to memory. I felt him break the kiss reluctantly as he looked down to me with a heavy gaze, the sun glinting off the additional piercings at the corners of his eyes and one ring in his nose. It was always like this when I had to say goodbye.

"You have to go soon.."

"I don't want to. You know this." I felt my voice crack and the heat flush on my face. Only he could make me feel as though I were a pansy knowing I'd see him soon.

"Now, none of that." He punctuated each word with a kiss on my lips as he laughed softly, but sadly as he disengaged from my waist to tilt my chin up and raised my gaze to his. Before I could tell him I loved him my alarm jarred me awake, and I cursed out loud, my fists pounding once apiece into the bed on either side of my legs.

"Damn it."
