[ year 5 ; riddikulus ]
DEFENSE AGAINST the Dark Arts was never one of Perrie's favourite classes. She preferred Charms and Astronomy. However, she decided she liked DADA a little more when she entered the classroom and saw the new teacher would be Professor RJ Lupin.
"Hey," Diana smiled, pulling on Perrie's arm. A couple of Slytherin students filled the room, forming their own side opposite of the Gryffindor class. "What do you suppose is in that big cabinet over there? I swear it moved like three times since I've entered the room." Diana said, dropping her bag on the table and pulling Perrie down beside her.
"I've only just got here. How would I know?"
Diana didn't get to answer as the twins entered, two minutes from being late.
"Do you mind if we just uh take these seats?" George asked two Gryffindor students. The students ogled over the twins and stood, moving to the seats adjacent to them and giggling.
Perrie raised an eyebrow. "Since when do girls in our year look at you like that?" She teased, winking playfully.
"I wouldn't know, I'm always busy looking at one particular girl." Fred shrugged, setting his bag on the table.
Perrie's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She's never heard Fred talk about girls and she'd like to think that they were good enough friends that he'd tell her since she told him when she found somebody attractive.
"Don't tell me you don't know who it is!" George groaned. Fred glared and Perrie's mouth opened slightly in confusion.
"Should I? Is she someone we see often or something?"
"Oh my Merlin!" Diana said loudly, facepalming almost simultaneously with George. "Hey that was kinda freaky...almost like we were twins instead of you and Fred."
"Shut up Diana," George said at the same time Perrie said,
"Who is she?"
Nobody could say anything else as Professor Lupin stood in front of the class, ready to teach. "I expect you to tell me by dinner, Weasley!" Perrie whispered before averting her attention to the lesson.
"Alright! Settle down." He instructed, scanning his class. "Can you all please stand up?" The class did as told with groans. "Fifth years, sheesh." The professor rolled his eyes jokingly. Perrie smiled genuinely, she already liked him. "Aaaand if you could all push your desks and chairs to the back now, careful please. We need open space, lots of open space."
By the time all the desks and chairs were moved to the back, the students were murmuring in confusion as they stared at their teacher.
"Excuse me—"
"You want to know what we're learning or what's in this?" Lupin asked, tapping the cabinet that shook again.
"Uh both?"
"Well, today we're learning about Boggarts. I know, I know. You all should've learned about them in your third year, and I'm hoping you did. However, I'm attempting to be very hands on this year and want to test a lesson plan on you all. My third years haven't had a class with me yet, and I'm hoping to teach them about Boggarts by throwing them straight in. Can anyone tell me what a Boggart is and what form they take?"
"A Boggart is an amortal shape-shifting non-being, Sir. Nobody knows the true form as it instantaneously takes the form of the person in front of it's worst fear." Perrie answered without raising her hand.
Diana nudged her, muttering "Nerd" in her ear.
"Great, great. Ms. Wood, correct? Can you tell me how one might defeat a Boggart?"
