The flight to Connecticut was not too long, only about five hours, but it felt like a lot longer with the time difference here. I ended taking a bus to get to my new home I bought a few months prior, but since it was in the middle of the woods I had to walk a few miles.
By time I arrived to my house it was around one in the afternoon and I was exhausted. I look up at my light blue house with white shutters and white trimming all around and smile realizing I'm finally home. Home, what a wonderful word. I take out my key and open the door stepping inside a dark hallway.
My house isn't too large, but I'll be able to live comfortably with just me. When I had bought it I loved that it was a two bedroom that had hard wood floors and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. The only downside was there was no garage to park my car, so I'd have to park it outside.
I turn my hall light on and stare at the empty home. My moving truck with most of my belongings wouldn't arrive till sometime next week, so for now I'd be sleeping on the floor in my sleeping bag. However, it wouldn't be too bad because tomorrow I went shopping for the rest of things I'd need for my home like dishes, a couch, food.
Talking about food I was getting kind of hungry. I didn't know the area that well, so I thought perhaps pizza would be good. I throw my suitcase down in the corner of the room and pull out my computer from my backpack. I turn it on and connect to my wifi, I was smart enough to pay in advance to get that here. I go to dominos.com and look at my rewards points. Yes! Looks like free pizza tonight.
Once I order my cheese pizza with mushrooms and onions I notice I had one new message on Skype.
Hi sweetie, it's been awhile and your flight should of landed. I hope you got home safely. Love you and miss you. ~ mom
I smile at my mom's words, she was always worried about her 'baby boy.' I decide to message her back before I hit up some Netflix.
Yes mom, I'm fine. I'm home and safe. Love and miss u2. I'll tlk 2 u l8r. I'm tired from the flight. Ttyl! ~R
Now that I've messaged her what should I watch on Netflix? I scroll through my favorite anime shows and decide upon Attack on Titan. That's my new favorite series and I'm a bit behind on the show. I'm only on episode twelve and I need to catch up so I can hit the second season. I get through an episode when my pizza arrives and I eat four slices and continue watching episodes till it's time to hit the sack.
The next morning I wake with a start. I go outside and look at the beautiful woods that surround mine and my neighbors homes. I need to go shopping for some furniture and what not, but I don't really know any places around here. It's still early in the morning and it seems like no one is up yet. Correction, there is one other guy up and he looks strange.
This guy is wearing a light blue hood pulled up over his head, so I can't see his hair. His hood has a weird white design on it and he's wearing tan-ish long pants and no shoes, but that isn't the weirdest part of his attire. He is carrying some wooden cane/staff thing. What a weirdo!
I watch him from a far and just notice he's recording himself with a camera. That sparked my attention and made me curious to see what he'd do next. He starts swinging his staff around like a sword as if he's fighting an imaginary person. I sigh realizing if I wanted to go furniture shopping I'd have to ask someone where there might be a good place to go too.
I start walking over to the boy, but his back is turned to me so he doesn't see me.
"And Pitch was like 'ooh I'm so scared' and I was like 'you better be' and then I started hitting him like--"
He swings his staff back turning around to show this imaginary person what he was talking about when he practically takes my head off.
"Hey watch it!"
The boy freezes, but quickly relaxes for a moment. He takes off his hood revealing a white wig.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. Usually no one is up this early, so I do all my filming then."
That's when I notice that the guy wasn't a guy, but in fact a girl dressed as one. Now I felt bad for yelling at her.
"You are into film?" I ask her.
She smiles cutely, "yeah. I have my own YouTube channel where I post a lot about my different cosplays."
Cosplays? Mental note to look up what that is.
She quickly brings me out of my train of thought by saying, "I'm sorry, where are my manors? I'm Kristen, but people call me Kris. What's yours?"
She offers me her hand to shake and I take it.
"Christopher, but my friends call me Riz."
"Nice to meet you Riz. Are you new to town? I don't believe I've seen you before."
I smile, "yeah. I moved down here for college. I live in the blue house over there." I point to my home, "I just moved in yesterday, but I need to get some furniture and stuff to make it more of a home. However, I don't know any good places to buy the stuff, so I thought I'd might ask you if you might know any."
"Of course! Hey I wasn't going to do much today except record an episode of Friday's with Frost, but helping you find furniture sounds like a lot more fun."
Another mental note, look up online what 'Friday's with Frost' is.
"That would be a great help. Thank you!"
"Ok, how about I meet you at yours in a half hour. I need to get out of this costume and put on some regular clothes."
I smile, "that would be great. Thank you Kris. I'll see you then."
She picks up her camera and staff. "Wonderful, see you then." With that she walks away back towards wherever her house is.
I don't know who this girl is, but I'd definitely like to get to know her better. She is definitely different than anyone I have ever met, and I liked that about her.
I go back home to await Kris' arrival.

Hey guys. What did you think? You finally got to meet Kristen. What do you think of her so far? If you guys haven't seen an episode of Friday's with Frost stop what you are doing now and look it up on Kristen's (thealchemicfox) youtube channel. I promise there is more character development for both Kristen and Riz to come. ~zero
