Bobby's feeling of terror was replaced with bewilderment. His knees had stopped trembling but he still felt cold inside out. A flock of questions bombarded his thoughts as the unmistakable face of Mylene was revealed in front of him. He was puzzled by the reality that presented itself before him and what was left of his dread had desolated his thinking mechanism. Before a realization could come, another question would pop out from Bobby's bemusement. The horror was suddenly replenished in him when the ghostly image of his girlfriend moved. Its dance-like motion commenced in a very slow pace until it reached a crouched position. It was now crawling on all fours as it zeroed in towards them.
Joey gasped and refreshed her wailing. She hit the doors as best as she could even if the surface of her palms already hurt.
Bobby flattened his body on the door as the pale shadow writhed closer to them. It dragged itself like a snail in an odd manner like a movie being paused every after two seconds. Her long waxlike arms stretched forward, exposing a ghastly skin with faint blood stains. What had turned Bobby from bad to worse was the sudden appearance of a shadowy figure behind her: a tall shape that looked like a man with insidious features. It was the demon Bobby had been seeing. Its menacing face was half-hidden behind the face of Mylene's ghost, as if it had a sinister motive to take her spirit. Only one of its two ominous eyes could be seen glowing like a burning coal.
"Somebody help us! PLEASE!"
Joey kept on shouting but her screams were blotted out from Bobby's ears. Everything around him went out of focus except for the haunting entities before him.
Joey turned just as the ghost was inching closer to them. The bloodcurdling creature had vanished behind her, but their fear was being refreshed as she drew closer to them. She was almost within hand's reach when Joey pulled the sleeves of Bobby's shirt to tag him along for a sprint. Joey started to jog to the left side of the chapel, but before she realized it, she was already too late. Surprisingly, the ghost extended its hand and had taken grab of Bobby's feet as if it was made of something solid. Bobby felt a strong grip below him, keeping him stationary against the forceful pull of Joey to his left. He fell to the ground and Joey's sore hands released its hold on Bobby's shirt. She almost went down with him only that her feet was able to sustain her balance and enabled her to advance a little farther from where Bobby lay. Joey turned to get back to him but terror overwhelmed her.
It was too late.
The slimy figure slid herself on top of Bobby. To Joey's astonishment, Bobby remained motionless and his eyes were fixed towards the ghost, which resembled the face of Mylene.
Mylene?
How...
By that time, Bobby was now face to face with Mylene's blurry image. Through her monotonous color, Bobby was able to distinguish closely the green patch of bruises on her face. Blood flowed endlessly from her head, passing through her forehead and between her eyes. Her eyes...
Her eyes were all white; they had no pupils.
The blood continued to flow down the bridge of her nose.
"BOBBY!" Joey's familiar voice echoed from somewhere near, but he ignored it.
Bobby lay flat and realized he could not move his arms. He whisphered, "Mylene?"
Tears swelled from her colorless eyes until they mixed in with the steady gush of blood. "Mylene―"
A flash of blinding light filled the chapel as the entrance's twin doors shot open. Joey saw Mr. Bernadas enter with a bewildered expression. Disbelief was painted on his face.
