Harry’s P.O.V.
I help out taking the coal from the bag and drop some onto the grill as the rest of the guys set up food and music as the rest of the group gets here to just relax and talk. It’s Sunday and Niall’s parents aren’t going to be back from vacation until tomorrow night so we decided to have a barbeque.
“Okay, so it’s only the girls coming right?” I ask Louis.
“Yeah. They’re a good group to just hang out with.” He answers.
“Any of you dating them?” I smile.
They laugh. “No. One of them has a boyfriend but no. We don’t see each other like that.” Says Liam.
“Is Cameron the one with the boyfriend?” I say.
“Jesus Christ, is this twenty one questions?” says Niall.
“I was just wondering. Fuck, can’t I ask some questions?” I snap.
“Ah! That’s the Harry we know. There’s the attitude. But to answer it, no. It’s Athena.” Says Zayn.
“Oh.” I say.
“Stay away from Cameron.” warns Zayn.
“What?” I say, trying to hide my smile from them.
“We all know damn well how you kept looking at her last night. Just stay away.” Says Liam.
“Your reputation and personality and Cameron’s don’t mix well. We already know it.” Says Louis.
I roll my eyes. “What the fuck does that mean?”
“The girl has more game than any guy we’ve seen.” Says Zayn.
“She clearly hasn’t seen mine.” I smirk.
Niall shakes his head. “You don’t know what’s she’s capable of.”
“Wha-“ I begin to say but I get cut off as a guy walks into the back yard as the girls also come in, including Cameron.
“What’s up? I brought beer.” He says as he holding up a case of beer with him.
“Andrew! Missed your ass last night at the party!” says Louis.
“I had some shit I had to take care of.” Says Andrew. As they continue to speak I lose my interest and look around as everyone is still greeting each other with hugs, the girls say hi and I just smile back. My eyes move to Cameron. She’s settling some things on the table where the food has be placed. Fuck, she’s really hot. And it’s not helping me staring at her while she’s wearing shorts and this black v neck on. I need to control myself. The next thing I know Cameron sits next to me while everyone is getting something to drink. Great. This is exactly what I need. She doesn’t really acknowledge me which bothers me because she gets along with everyone else. Like what the fuck did I ever do to her?
“Niall, where the fuck is your bug repellent shit at?” says Cameron. She has an annoyed face expression and it’s quite amusing.
“Here.” says Niall as she hands it to her. I try not to watch her directly but I couldn’t really help as she’s applying it over her arms and legs…. She has really nice legs. Cameron comes towards me and hands me the bug repellent spray and I take it but then she leans into my left ear and says softly, “Stop staring at me, you’re making it really obvious.” She then pulls away with a smile on her face and I all do is look at her but then roll my eyes with a grin. She returns back to her sit next to me but doesn’t pay attention to me after that. About a half hour or forty minutes later, Liam is telling everyone to grab plates and start serving themselves burgers and whatever else was on the table. I end up talking to Andrew about school and talking about how I needed to books in some of my classes, which in reality is a very lame topic to talk about but the guy was only making conversation so I went along with it. The next thing I know he’s telling me he has some books that I need so he invites me over his house tomorrow morning to pick them up and I agree to it. The rest of the night goes well as everyone just eats, drinks and talks but Cameron and I never made more conversation and that was something I was bothered with and I didn’t know why. I don’t even know her.
9:32 a.m.
I knock Andrew’s apartment and wait for a couple of moments until someone opens the door. I look up to see not see Andrew, but Cameron. I get confused for a bit… are they friends with benefits or something? I couldn’t help but see that she was only in a long t shirt but no shorts. I try to keep my eyes leveled to hers.
“Of course it’s you.” She says.
“Good morning to you too.” I say as I pretend to be annoyed with her. She walks away from the door and I still stand outside not knowing what to do.
“Are you going to come in or stand there like a mannequin?” she says from inside. I step into the apartment and shut the door behind me. There seems no sight of Andrew and I’m still wondering why Cameron is here.
“I’m Andrew’s cousin.” She says as she reads my thoughts. “I live here too.”
“Oh.” I say. I try not look at her as she’s wearing the t shirt but it’s really hard not to and I all I keep thinking is all the dirty things I can do to her right now.
“It’s okay to look,” she laughs at me. “I mean, it’s not the first time you’ve seen a girl in just a t shirt right?”
“No.” I say flatly. No it hasn’t and it probably won’t be the last.
“Andrew says you were supposed to be here to pick some books up?”
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, that’s why I’m here. Where is he by the way?” I ask.
“I don’t know nor do I care but he just said he to do something and asked me to give you the books if he didn’t come back in time.” She says and she pours herself some juice but then quickly says, “I’ll go get them for you.” A few minutes pass by and she comes back with a shorts on as well as the shirt she’s wearing and for that I’m thankful but the shorts and the longest but still. She hands them to me and I take them.
“Oh. I’m being really rude. Have you eaten breakfast yet?” she says.
“No… I haven’t. But-“
Cameron cuts me off. “Andrew just made breakfast before he left and there’s some. Do you wanna eat?”
“Why are you being nice? You didn’t acknowledge me last night so why now?” I blurt out.
“You’re right. What was I thinking being civil with someone?” she says sarcastically. “I’ll tell Andrew to find you so you can pay him for the books.” She says as she opens the door. I make my way out the door and before I try to apologize she shuts the door at my face.
