“YOU WHAT?” yells Athena, causing several people in the room to turn around with annoyed looks.
“Shhh!”
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.”
“Say something else,” I groan, hiding my face with my hands.
“When did it happen? Was it in his car?” she says.
I shook my head no. “Outside the apartment. It just like- He kissed me first and I kissed back. I couldn’t stop.” I say, fiddling with my fingers. After a moment or two from not hearing from her, I look up to see Athena smiling. “Stop looking at me like that.”
“I’m sorry but that’s hot. Did you bring him-“
“No! No. I couldn’t- I didn’t sleep with him.” Athena stays silent so I continue to stay. “I don’t know why I didn’t though. Like I really wanted to but I couldn’t psychically do it. I- I don’t know. I sound stupid.” I say, shrugging my shoulders.
“Hmm,” she pauses for a second. “I don’t know what to say. I’m not you. I’ve never been in this position. But, you’re seeing him today. I think you should give him a chance. I know dating-“
“Whoa, who said anything about dating?” I interrupt.
“I just think you should try something new. Out of your comfort zone.”
“Easier said than done. Besides, I have Derek.”
“You’re so complicated.” She sighs.
“I wish I wasn’t.”
“Are you still seeing your psychologist?” she says, completely changing the subject.
“Yeah.” I say, breaking the eye contact and looking at my drink.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone is different. Time is everything, besides you’ve gotten so much better over the years.”
“No I haven’t. I’ve ruined so many great opportunities. I had so much to look forward to in life.” I frown.
“Well I think you’ve been coping really well over the past six years.” She says softly.
“I don’t deserve you,” I say, looking at Athena. “You’re too much of a good friend to be with an asshole like me.”
“Don’t say that.”
“But it’s true.”
“I think you’re class starts soon,” she says.
I check my phone and she’s right, I have to leave soon. I pick my back bag up and messenger bag and finish the rest of my tea. I hug Athena, mind you I don’t even like giving hugs, but I needed to. “Thanks for listening.”
“No problem. Have fun on that date with Harry tonight.” She grins. I roll my eyes at her and head out the door.
After my last class got done I headed straight home and chilled in the couch for like an hour snacking on a bowl of grapes and watching the news on the tv because I felt like it. I was wondering where the hell was Andrew at but he’s been so busy the past weeks I kind of didn’t mind anymore. After a while passed, I heard my phone vibrate and it was a text message from Harry.
“Be at your place to pick you up in 20 minutes.”
“Ok.” I replied back.
I sighed and dragged myself out of the couch and went to my room to change my top in which I decided to just put a black tank top on and a gray cardigan on. I also put on more deodorant on and some perfume. I didn’t really have the energy to get dolled up but not look that sloppy. Look decent while being with him at least, Cameron. Sheesh. Before I know it, I hear a knock at the door so I grab my bag from the couch and open the door to see Harry standing there in his black skinny jeans, a black t shirt and white converse. Well damn.
