Chapter 35: Illness

Ashley’s POV

I woke up and found Izzy missing from bed. Melody and Austin were still asleep. I got up and went to look for Iz. I looked everywhere and couldn’t find her. I walked off the bus and heard crying on the roof. I climbed up and found Izzy. “Baby, why are you crying?” I asked. She wrapped her arms around me and cried into my chest. “My cancer is back.” She said. My heart just dropped. “I went to an appointment back in Tennessee and my doctor just called this morning saying it was back.” She said. I started crying now. “Isabella Purdy, we will get through this. I won’t lose you. I can’t lose you.” I said. She smiled weakly and kissed me. “Take care of our babies no matter what.” She said. “I won’t have to. I will have you with me.” I said. She kissed me and soon Andy came up on the roof wondering what was going on. “You need to find a replacement for me for the rest of tour.” I said. “No Ashley, stay and perform.” Iz said. “No, you need me I’m coming home with you.” I said. “Andy make him stay.” Iz said begging him. “Andy, I can’t. Medical problems have come up and I need to leave to help Izzy.” I said. Andy nodded. “I will call Sam from Asking would love to help out.” He said. I nodded and thanked him. “Izzy, I love you. Ashley needs to go home and help you. We all love you and want you healthy.” Andy said. Izzy nodded and hugged him tightly. We all climbed off the roof of the bus and headed inside. Iz wanted to tell everyone. We got Sammi, Ella, Geena and Juliet on the skype. Sure Juliet and Andy broke up but Izzy stayed close friends with her which was fine with Andy. “Guys, I don’t know how to tell you this but my cancer is back.” Iz said. She started crying and I held her tightly. “Iz and I are going home so I can take care of her and the kids.” I said. They all nodded. Carrie looked sick so she ran off the bus. Andy followed her. “Hey sweetie.” Juliet said. Izzy looked at her. “I will help Ash with the kids okay?” she said. Iz nodded. “I will help too.” Geena said. “Thanks guys.” I said. “Tell me when you are flying home and I will come pick you guys up.” Juliet said. I nodded and ended the call. I went and packed all of our things. I saw Jinxx cuddling with the kids. I smiled weakly. “She will be fine Ash. She is so strong.” He said. I nodded. I finished packing and called a taxi. Iz was still shaking. She walked off the bus with Andy. I looked out the window and saw them smoking. I just brushed it off because I know she only does it when she is nervous and upset. Carrie came in and smiled at me. It was one of those flirty smiles. I was kind of creeped out. I walked back to Jinxx and the kids when I was yanked into the bathroom. I looked and saw Carrie She tried to kiss me but I pushed her away. “Come on, you know you want me Purdy boy.” She said. “No I do not want you. I married your sister because I love her. In five months it will be our one year anniversary.” I said angry. I tried to leave the bathroom but the door was jammed. “I jammed the door.” She said. I started pounding on the door screaming for Izzy and the guys. “Ashley!” Iz screamed. “Izzy, baby, help me.” I said. Carrie tried kissing me again. “GET OFF ME! I DON’T WANT YOU! I WANT ISABELLA!” I screamed. “Ashley, who is in there with you?” Iz asked. “It is your sister.” I said. “YOU BITCH, DON’T YOU DARE KISS MY MAN!” Iz screamed. I pushed Carrie out of the way and climbed out the window. I ran into the bus and kissed Izzy. “I promise I did not kiss her.” I said. “I know you wouldn’t.” she said kissing me. We said goodbye to everyone and headed to the airport with the kids.

Andy’s POV

Carrie was just using me and didn’t care about Isabella. I kicked Carrie off the bus and we left for the next stop. I didn’t even like her that much anyway. I headed to my bunk and opened up Skype. I called someone who I thought I would never talk to ever again. “Hi Andy.” She said. “Hi Juliet.” I said. She smiled softly. “I was such an idiot Dragonfly. I love you so much. We should’ve tried to work out our differences. Please take me back.” I said. “Andy, you know I love you.” She said. I looked at her with tears in my eyes. “Dragonfly, I will be back in two days. Please meet me and we can talk.” I said. “Andy, I want you back. I do want to see you. I don’t know if I will come out because I want to take care of Iz.” She said. “Okay but I have my Dragonfly back.” I said. “You never lost me White Rabbit.” She said. I kissed the screen and she kissed it back. I stayed up talking with her for two hours and said hi to Femme and Crow. “I have to go. Iz and Ash landed and I need to pick them up.” She said. I nodded. “I love you.” I said. “I love you too.” She said. I waved goodbye and shut my laptop. I walked out to the guys. “Guys, I have my dragonfly back.” I said. They all cheered and tackled me with hugs. I smiled and called Sam to meet us at the next venue. Danny got all pissy because I was taking Sam away from recording but he understood.

Izzy’s POV

We got to the airport and I was holding Austin’s carrier and Ash’s hand. I saw Juliet and smiled. “I’m back with Andy.” She said. I smiled and hugged her. “Let’s get my baby home and get her taken care of.” Juliet said. I smiled and we headed to her car. We got back home and I saw Matt on the front steps. “You didn’t.” I said to Ash. He nodded. I got out and Matt ran over hugging me tightly. “You can’t leave me.” He said. “I’m going to get treatment again Matt. I don’t want to leave you.” I said. He nodded and hugged me tightly. Juliet and Matt helped us inside. Juliet already started making dinner and Matt was helping Ash with the kids. I started on the laundry and I fed the dogs. Carolyn could sense something was up. I kissed her head and went to sit down. I called my doctor and booked surgery for tomorrow to remove my tumors. I have two this time. Juliet yelled that dinner was ready. I felt so unneeded in my own home. Ash put Melody and Austin in their chairs and started to feed them. I stopped him. “I will feed them.” I said. “No, I got it you always do it.” He said. “No, I just have cancer. I can still feed my kids.” I said irritated. He started eating and I fed my kids. It was annoying me how I couldn’t do anything. I ate my dinner quickly and took the kids upstairs. I heard Matt and Juliet yell goodbye and yelled bye back. I bathed them and put their pjs on. Ash came to the door. “What’s wrong?” he asked. “You think I can’t do anything anymore and I am perfectly capable of doing things around the house and taking care of my babies.” I said. He nodded and kissed my head. “I just want you to be able to relax.” He said. I nodded and kissed him. He dried off Austin and I dried off Melody. We took them to their room and got them ready for bed. I rocked them to sleep while Ashley sang. They soon fell asleep and we tucked them in. Ashley picked me up and carried me to bed. He stripped me out of my clothes and tucked me in. I cuddled up to his side and fell asleep. I was in for a hell of a day tomorrow. Ash kissed me and fell asleep himself.
