Chapter 2💀
*Scarlette's pov*
Ugh. This place reeks. In case you haven't realized what is going on, I'm kind of stuck in a zombie apocalypse. It's great... Not. See, I was at home when it all started. With my brothers and mom, obviously. We had been warned on the news to stay in our houses, but the virus started becoming uncontrolled, so I did what I could to protect my family, which consists of my parents and two brothers.
My brothers are named Brendan Troy Harper and Travis Eathan Harper. My mom is named Holly Theresa Harper. Not that it really matters because I call her mom. Oh well. I just always loved her name. And my father... His name is Brian Evan Harper, but I'm not sure where he is, or if he's okay. You see, he was in the marines a long time ago, and they sent for all veterans to help when this virus began spreading. So he did what he had to do. He left.
I try to make him proud, I really do. My parents recently got separated though, and it's been hard to take the lead role in this situation. I ended up boarding up all the windows and doors in my house, quieting the boys, and I eventually got guns, knives, and walkie-talkies to keep with us for emergencies. But we were running out of food, and I needed some for my poor family.
Although they have learned to fend for themselves, I still believe in getting the food when they aren't watching me, which is usually at night. Then I can sneak out quickly, find some food somewhere (sometimes at the grocery store, sometimes at gas station food marts) and bring it back while attracting the least amount of attention to myself as possible. It all went fine until about... An hour ago. That's when the real drama started.
