Ode to the Sound of Silence
Never thought about.
The peace of the night so rare
that when achieved, never noticed.
Feared by the strong
Loved by the weak.
So vulnerable that a pin could pierce
your thin, black veil.
An extrovert's asylum
An introvert's paradise.
Many strive to meet you
while few get the pleasure to.
So lonely- for no one will ever
truly hear your strangling cries.
But here's to you, silence.
May your voice be heard
throughout the world.
And your lessons remembered by those
Who take the time to listen to
