The Dagger's Power

Regina rushes into the Sheriff's office with me behind her.  Once we get into the main part of the building where Emma's office is and where the jail cells are, both empty, everyone turns toward us.  Robin, Regina, Emma, Hook, David, Mary-Margret, and I all huddle around the desk where the Darkone dagger lays, it's just sitting there, calling for me.  I mean literally calling for me, I can hear the whispers getting louder and louder by the second calling for me.  I can grab it and go, that's all I have to do, then I can go live in a cabin in the woods alone tormenting the Storybrooke residents.  But no, I have to keep my cover, I can not blow it I've gotten too far.

Everyone just stares at the dagger, Regina waves her hand over it, the name still doesn't show, I smirk.  Emma gives it a go, same thing happens, I secretly smirk again the darkness coming back, filling my brain, heart, lungs, thoughts, everything.  Robin looks at everyone, takes a deep breathe and picks up the dagger.

"Well here going nothing," he manages.  "Darkone I summoned thee, Darkone face me," he chants.

Rumple appears behind him, I fight the hold of the dagger, but it is to strong I look up from my shoes and look at him.  No one notices, that's a good sign, hopefully.  But then, Regina grabs the dagger taking a step back from us.

"It's not working, he or she must be in another realm, I will hold onto this. If you don't mind, I will keep it in my vault," she says her voice echoing though the room.

Everyone nods agreeing that Regina is the best qualified for the job.

I speak, "What about Mr. Gold?"

"We will go look for him, David will bring you back to the loft, Henry and Roland are there, you guys can hang out," Emma says.

I smile, this one however is a fake smile, "Okay."

I sit next to Henry on the couch watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs since we just stopped watching Robin Hood.  Roland was obsessed with the Disney versions of his parents.  He just sits there with his bowl of popcorn his eyes glued to the television.   Henry gets up off of the couch and walks to the kitchen. I look up when he quietly whistles.  He waves his hand, signaling for me to come over by him.  I get up and slowly walk over to him where he is making two hot cocoas with cinnamon.  I smile when he offers me one.  We sit there in silence until he speaks.

"Is that my hoodie," he asked attempting to raise an eyebrow but fails.

"Um, yeah.  Regina let me wear it, she said it was to small for you," I say raising an eyebrow successfully just to tease him.

"So, Molly if you don't mind me asking.  What was life like before you came to Storybrooke? Did you have any siblings," he nudges me.

"I was in the foster system, and yeah I had a brother, well foster brother.  He was the son of the man who was my foster dad.  He was horrible, the dad was not the boy.  He was around Roland's age.  The father was abusive, one day he got so bad I actually took the boy and ran away.  When he found us I got punished like never before," I say sadly, pulling up the memories of Joe was painful, but it just added fuel to my fire.

"Do you think you foster brother misses you," Henry asks unaware of my brother.

"No, he is dead," I say flatly putting down the mug.

"Oh I'm sorry, what happened," he asks coming around the eland putting a hand on my shoulder.

"He died..." I pause thinking of a believable story, "he had leukemia and he died a while ago."

Henry winces. He opens his mouth but all of a sudden I couldn't hear anything.  Just feel the pull, the pull of the dagger.  Oh no, they are using it, oh no.  Henry stops and notices something is wrong.  I fight the pull not wanting them to find out it is me who is the Darkone, who is the hooded masked figure who killed my mother.  But at a point the pull is to strong and I raise a figure to Henry.

"I will be right back," I say

I disappear in a cloud of blue smoke from Henry's view and I reappear on the docks of Storybrooke, where I face Regina, Robin, David, Mary-Margret, Emma and Hook.
