Finding my way

Chapter 6:

Beep "Back it up!" Beep "right there." Beep " perfect!". The moving had just got here and it was backing up in the morning. It was 7:30 in the morning. I woke up at 7:28. I tjought it was my alarm clock, and that i set it this morning. I was reaching for a button and all my hand met was air. I opened my eyes. At first i started to panic and think we were robbed, but then i remebered that the moving truck was due today. I stormed out side, still wearing my pajamas and no shoes, and yelled "dad!". He turned around. " yes sweetie?" Why are is there a moving truck here at 7:30 in the morning!" My dad waved me off and said," your 18. You should be getting up at this time for a job each day. In fact, you should get a job!" " ugh!" I schreeched. Then i changed, grabbed a backpack, filled it with snacks and a change of clothes, just in case, and yelled that i was going out. I stormed across the beach to Jess's house. It took a few minutes of walking/storming but i finally got there. I pushed the door bell, then knocked on the door just in case. The door opened to a sleepy Jess with her blonde hair all over the place and her still in a nightgown. "Hey. Whats up?" She said with a yawn. "Stuff with my dad again." She motioned for me to come inside. Her house was just like ours, but with furniture. Her couches were leather couches, she had a nice sized T.V. and a glass coffee table. She brought me into the kitchen. She had a dark oak table. She sat down in one of the cushiony seats and motioned for me to sit down to. I sat down and sunk into the cushion. "So, tell me what happened." She said. I told her everything that happened this morning, and she gasped at all the right parts. "he's making you get a job!" She whisper yelled, since her parents were still asleep. "Yeah!" I whisper yelled back. " well... Ill get a job with you then." I gasped. " you'd do that for me?" I asked. She nodded. "Theres an ice cream place nearby looking for help. We can apply for the job today. Ill meet you in an hour at my house." She said, with determination
