Chapter 8: the new job

"Hello and welcome to frozen sweets! How may i help you?" I said in an overly enthusiastically. Not only had i gotten the job, but me and Jess's first shift was only an hour after. So here i am, in a yellow apron with there logo on it, and a headband with an ice cream. I also had to act overly enthusiastic, wich i hated. " ill have a small cup of mint chocolate chip for my son, and a medium cup of vanilla for me." Said the lady i was taking the order of. I each ice cream scoop into the cups and handed it to her. "Have a nice day." I grumbled. Jess elbowed me in the stomach. "Have a nice day!" I said in my overly cheery. Once they left i gagged a little. What had my life come to? I looked at the clock. It was noon. I jumped for joy. "Its closing time!" I screeched to Jess. She just giggled. I flipped the open sign to closed and took of my apron, and headband, and hung them back on their hanger. I skipped out of there and waited by the bikes for Jess. She came out, looking kind of sad to leave (wich is something ill probably never be about this place) and we hoped on our bikes. We rode all the way back to her house. "Go pack an overnight bag." Said Jess. I walked home. I saw that the house was full of furniture, and the moving van was gone. We had nice, soft couches, our medium sized tv, and our mahogany coffee table. I walked into my room, and saw my white dresser, and i looked into the droors to find that my dad had unpacked and put my clothes away. I had my nice bed, and soft, fluffy blankets. I started to pack my bag. Two pairs of clothes (one for warm weather, one for cold. You never know how the weather could be here) and my pajamas. I yelled to my dad that id be staying the night with my friend(even though i wasnt sure that was what we were doing or not) and walked back to my friends house. "What are we doing?" I asked her once i had gotten there. "We... Are having a sleepover!" She squealed

Sorry it took me a while to update but i have been busy with school latley, and its not always easy coming up with new stuff to. Thanks for reading my book! Ill try my best to post on chapter a day, but if i have time ill post more. I figured out my chapter problem, but ill have to delete the part and republish it if i want to fix it, so i will only do that in the future chapters, not the ones ive already done.
