*Natalies POV*

I woke up a bit late. It's not like I cared though. It's only school. I did my morning routine and walked out of my room. As I walked past moms room I saw her sleeping. Poor thing. She's been working herself way too hard ever since dad left. I headed out, walking to the bus stop. If I don't show up will the school notice? Ugh, probably. While I was standing at the bus stop I remembered I had one thing to look forward to. Dylan. He was nice to me, well so far. I don't know how much longer before I cant say that anymore. The bus came and I found an empty seat towards the middle. I popped my earbuds in and prayed that no one would take mind to me. Thankfully no one noticed me. We got to school and I went to my locker. While I was there I heard someone trying to force a locker open. No surprise the person getting angry at the locker was Dylan. He was having locker troubles. Small troubles, but I guess it pissed him off. He yanked on the door, muttering curse words under his breath. I got my stuff and walked over to him. "Need some help?" I offered. He looked at me and smiled. "That'd be nice, yeah." He gave me the paper with his combination on it and I opened the locker with no problem. "I loosened it." he claimed. I giggled, "Whatever makes you happy, Hyde." We both chuckled. I was suddenly pushed back by a snooty blonde girl. It was Leah Morris. She turned at me and glared. "You can leave now, freak." She turned to Dylan and introduced herself. He just looked at her like he seen a ghost, or just a really bitchy chick. "That was kind of rude, don't you think?" He told her. I wasn't as close as I was before but I backed up enough to where I could still hear their conversation. "Whatever, she's no one." Leah replied. Dylan closed his locker and glared at her. He had a dark look into his eyes. She backed up. "Wow, and to think I thought you were cute. You're just like her, freak." She walked away, flipping her blonde hair. I was still standing there. Dylan saw me and he walked to me. "Thanks for helping me with the locker again." He whispered, brushing my hair away from my ear. His voice sent chills down my spine. "Anytime." I replied. He winked and walked to English. "and thank you." i whispered to myself. I stood there, still confused. Why does he keep sticking up for me?
