Epilogue

Graduation Day

"And the award for the best student goes to.... Lexi Collins!"

Everyone starts clapping and I go towards the stage, grabbing the microphone.

"When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our things were answers like astronaut, president, or in my case, princess... When we were ten, they asked us again. We answered - rock star, cowboy, or in my case, gold medalist... But now that we've grown up, they want a more serious answer. Well, how about this... Who the hell knows? This isn't a time to make hard and fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere chill. Fall in love - a lot. Major in philosophy because there's no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind. Then change it again because nothing is permanent. So make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask again what we want to be... We won't have to guess. We'll know."

After my long speech, I look at Reece. He sends me a big smile and a thumbs up.

My dad is crying and most parents are, too.

I head towards Reece and kiss him.

"Congratulations, Reece."

"Congratulations, cupcake."

Three Years Later

Lexi is 21 and Reece just turned 22

I'm walking towards the car, Reece's hand in mine. It's been almost three years since we've been dating, and everyday I love him even more.

"Love?" He calls me.

"Yea?"

"We are here." Reece tells me and opens the door.

He is taking me to a surprise, and I don't really know why.

But I find it cute.

The restaurant is beautiful! There is a big chandelier in the middle and everyone is really fancy. I gasp.

"Wow Reece, it's beautiful!" I hug him.

"Everything for my cupcake." Reece gives me a kiss on the cheek and sits down in the chair that is in front of me.

After eating, Reece tells me that he wants to go for a walk. I instantly nod.

"I love England, don't you? Sometimes, I just stare at the view and think how lucky we are. We are both in Oxford; which we really wanted to go. I'm going to be a lawyer soon! Our friends are always calling and visiting, and our families are always there." I say.

"We are really lucky." Reece nods and pulls me to a big library.

"Um... Reece? Where are we?" I ask.

"Just wait." He replies and takes me in a really small stair that continues all the way to the top.

When we get there, I fall in awe.
