I'm out on the edge and I'm screaming my name
Like a fool at the top of my lungs
Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright
But it's never enough
You heard the door open and you saw Dave.
"hey y/n, whats up?" he said, closing the door behind him.
"D-dave....do you mind if I ask you a q-question..?" Dave set the groceries he bought on the counter and began pulling them out.
"what is it?" he asked.
"Who's Dirk?"
Dave hesitated. He faced away for a minute and sniffled. Turning back to you, his face a little pale, he explained. He explained what happened to Dirk. He explained how it was all an accident. He explained that Dirk was teaching him how to use a katana. He just....it was an accident. You stood there listening to all of it, oddly not phased.
"that's why i need you, y/n..."
"I understand." you walked up to him and hugged him. You didn't know why you did it. He stood there out of shock for a minute, his cheeks turning a hue of red, then hugged you back. After the hug, you helped him put the groceries away and told him that everything was gonna be okay from now on. You thought everything would.
