I dreaded to hear what my sister wanted to tell me. We all went to the living room, in a quite civil way considering they all tried to kill each other before this. As everyone sat down I remained standing. "Take a seat," Cass said gesturing to the empty seat near her. "I don't think so! Tell me what is going on right now," I command. Today was the craziest day of my life I almost forgot that in a few hours time I will be 18 years old. Cass shifted in her seat uncomfortably, Zayn was glaring daggers at Calaen and Calaen was perched at the edge of his seat, ready for battle. "Well Alex, I didn't plan on telling you this way but-" she was cut off by Calaen. "You're the daughter of Queen Mab of the Unseelie Court and on your 18th birthday it was agreed that you come home. For you were taken at the age of ten to come and live with your human father. You are part fey or a half-blood and first in line to the throne. You had an older brother called Prince Ash but he died a long time ago, " he said casually sharpening his knife. I don't know why but I just burst out into hysterical laughter, "Is this some kind of big before-Halloween-prank because if it is, it is so not funny, " my laughter died away when I saw my sister's grave face. "This can't be real," I start pacing the room. "Alexia, have you ever done strange things and you don't know how you did it. Like your hands starting to heat up and turn blue? Or blue orbs that hurt people at your will?" Calaen asked curiously. I stop dead in my tracks, "H-how did you know about that?" I hiss my face turning pale. "Well, that is what happens when a half-blood is becoming of age and a royal one at that," Calaen remarked.
"Wait, what about Cass? She is also royal coz she's related to me, but she is older, how can I be the heir to the throne?" I stare suspiciously at Calaen. Then I notice something, "Hey Cass you and Zayn are being awfully quiet about this whole affair, did you guys know about this and didn't tell me?" I am getting really angry now. Zayn and Cass both hung their heads, "We've got something else to tell you," Zayn was the first to break the awful silence. "Well Cass and I aren't exactly human either," Zayn mumbles. "What!" I snap my eyes flashing. Zayn actually shrunk back in fear. "Tell me now," my voice going lower with each word. How dare they lie to me for the past 18 years! It took Zayn a lot of courage to continue speaking. "Well you see, I am a were-wolf and Cass is a changeling, we have been assigned as your protectors for the rest of your life," Zayn explained. "Wait is Cass even my blood sister?" Cass shakes her head and says, "No, I was designed to look like you and pretend to be your twin to help you and look after you," her voice was soft. "I don't need a baby-sitter, all these years and you didn't tell me. All these years and you have been lying to me, " I say sadly shaking my head slowly. "Get out," I murmur to Zayn and Calaen. "Wait, Alex listen to me," Zayn started to protest. "I said, GET OUT!" My hands started to heat up again. I close my eyes and I hear the door open and close. "Alex wait!" Cass calls after me but I ignore her and run up stares. I hate my life so much.
