As I am being flushed down a magic portal, I can't help but think how drastically my life has changed. Like for example how, right now I should be celebrating my 'sister's' birthday with my best friend and my father. But I am actually spinning down a very long portal. Don't portals take only a short amount of time to go through? Well the answer is no! When you travel through a portal you are going past twenty different worlds and dimensions every five seconds. It only stops when you have reached the destination that you had set on it. How do I know that? Because, I've just lost my lunch down forty-five passing dimensions and worlds. This is how I am living my life now. Just great. Note the sarcasm. My feet hit solid ground and I stumble towards the ground. My foot slips and I realise that I am on ice. I slowly stood up and looked around me. Everything was covered in soft, white snow, or frozen, glowing,  blue ice. It was like a winter wonderland! I gasped, it was all so beautiful. "Like the view Princess?" came a smug voice from behind me. I jumped high into the air and spun around. It saw who said it. "Damn Calaen! If you don't stop doing that I will impale you with a ice shard. And I'll make sure it is very blunt!" I snarled. Why the hell does he feel it is necessary to scare me like that? Calaen just held up his hands in surrender completely ignoring my lethal glare. "Where is this place?" I wondered out loud. "Well, this Princess, This is home!" His arms flew open for effect. I looked at him puzzled. "Um, where exactly is home?" Calaen and Dimitri (Who I completely forgot was there) gaped at me. "She doesn't even know where home is," Calaen shook his head muttering.

"Princess, home is the Unseelie Court," but when I still looked confused he elaborated. "Most people who read The Iron Fey books, they know it as the Winter Court," his eyebrows were raised as if challenging me to say that I don't know what he is talking about. My mouth makes an 'o' shape as I realise what he is talking about. "There is nothing here," I say bluntly. And then I realise how stupid I have been for the past day or so. I ran away with a stranger who tried to kill my best friend, doesn't even know my name because he keeps calling me 'Princess' or 'Alexia', he pushed me through a magic portal and took me to a desolate snowy area claiming that it was the 'Unseelie Court.' He could be a crazy psychopath for all I know! I stand still, what if this is all a trap? Calaen turned around and asked me what was wrong. "What's wrong? I'll tell you what is wrong! I am such a freackin' idiot! I left my sister with a stranger who claims that my mother is Queen Mab of the Unseelie Court! I am soo gullible!" I wave my hands around frantically. Calaen grabs them and holds them to my side. "Listen to me Alexia, your birthday is on the 31st October, you are the last child of Queen Mab, heir to the throne. Try to keep up," his voice was low and reasurring and somehow I found myself believing him  whole-heartedly. He was still holding my hands to my side, and his deep blue eyes were staring intently into my aqua coloured eyes. I just realised that Calaen's face was close to mine and he was leaning in. I loud growl came from behind him and we jumped apart. I saw Dimitri looking absolutely livid. "You were about to kiss my mate in front of me," he snarled. Calaen backed away looking calm. I don't know who he could do that because Dimitri was glaring at him with such hatred that it could have burned a whole inside of him. He started to growl, suddenly he turned into a great black wolf. It was huge. Dimitri the wolf lunged at Calaen.
