Styling my hair in the mirror, I put on my gold aviators. Checking myself out one more time, I finally prepared myself.
Behind me, my roommate Tom shouted "Stop checking yourself out dickhead, and go to fucking work!"
"Fuck off." I responded, before the doorbell rang with a deafening ring.
"Answer it, dickhead." Tom shouted.
"Fine, but next time get off your damn phone and stop texting that Spanish girl."
"Dude! She's hot!"
Ignoring my idiot friend, I practically ripped the hinges off the door, and was met with a grinning over-hyper postman, who's bright red name badge read:
LYFINN NEKKETT
What a shit name. And I thought Tim was bad.
"What do you want?" I snapped at the grinning postman.
"Howdy sir, I'm here to deliver a nice and clean invitation."
"For what? Get your act together, Lyfinn!"
"Sorry sir! But anyway, here ya go!"
I snatched the envelope from his greasy, stupid, webbed hands and ripped it open, not before slamming the door in his face.
The invitation was to some stupid place called Mungo Manor. But then I read the whole thing.
Howdy Tim!
Come to Mungo Manor! It's a school reunion, all our mates will be there. Tell Tom too, even though he's a bit of a douche. It's happening on the 2nd May.
See ya soon!
Alex Haycock.
Slight smirk on my face, I headed out to my boring job as a store clerk. And that was how I found myself driving from my run-down apartment in Chillton to the mysterious countryside two nights later
Rock music blaring over the radio, I was actually looking forward to the reunion. And Alex had told me who was coming, too!
Tim Edwards, Thomas Swancott, Briony Tilsley, Charlotte Pugh, Dylan Lees, Lucy Bance.
As long as Mungo Manor wasn't filled with zombies, the night would be good. It had been six years since I'd last seen them all, so it'd be nice to catch up.
In the end, we didn't get to catch up much. It's hard to talk about the old times when everyone's been murdered.
