Hanging By a Thread

"How you feeling?" Hunter asked as we got in the car to go to the hospital.

"Not so good." I replied weakly. I had gotten worse overnight, I had a severe headache, I felt lightheaded, and everything was growing dim.

"Hey Kyle, why don't you help me get her to the back seat." Hunter said to Kyle.

"OK, what are we going to do with her?" He asked.

"Lay her down." Hunter answered.

"Hunter," I said very weakly, "please hurry, I'm really scared!"

"We're going, you're gonna be okay. I promise. Just try to stay with us okay?" Hunter said, trying to not let his nervousness show.

"Just talk to me ok? We can talk about anything." Kyle said, trying to keep me from passing out.

"I...I don't know...how much longer...I can...stay...awake..." Just then I went unconsious.

The next thing I remember was doctors all around me, I couldn't see Hunter or Kyle, I was scared to death. I screamed out "WHERE'S HUNTER?! I NEED MY BROTHER!!!!!" By this point I was crying my eyes out, I then heard one of the doctors tell a nurse to go get Hunter. "Where's my brother? I need him!" I just kept repeating until he finally appeared. 

"Hunter, what's going on? I'm so scared!" I said.

"Right now no one is for sure what's wrong, but no matter what, I'll be right beside you when I can." Hunter said, I loved him so much! Then it hit me.

"But, but what about your tour? I don't want to ruin it for you!" I said.

"Look, nothing, even my tour, is more important to me, than you." He said.

"Hunter?" I asked.

"Yes, Haley?" He said.

"You're the best brother I've ever had..." I slowly drifted away. As I did I could hear Hunter saying, "Haley, Haley don't leave me, Haley you've got to stay awake..." he pleaded with me, but then I was gone, but not for good don't worry. "I'll be back." that's what I wanted to tell him, but I couldn't. Right now, my life was hanging by a thread.
