Our birthmothers are mostly bisexual in nature mostly due to the extreme saturation of pharomones and the hive minds ability to share pleasure subconsciously between two members.
A drone selects a suitable female host from a communitity. After tranquilizing her it takes her to a secluded location to begin the impregnation process. The drone stickers her to the wall naked and spread eagle with the resin they produce. Once done the drone fetches a queen hiphugger egg and sets it near the woman's nethers and waits for the egg to "hatch" allowing the hiphugger to begin impregnating her with a queen. The process of impregnation is a short but mind shatteringly pleasurable experience that usually ends up knocking out the woman in question. [I didn't come up with this idea all credit goes to sr500 and saraoconnel on hentai foundry :) the story is called "aliens Genesis" give it a read to get a good idea on the basic start to a xenomorph hive of the ARE. All other stages are covered in the story on hf so PLEASE read it if you want a good idea on birthing and expansion. However the ARE can though rarely forces women into our ranks :( . It isn't something we are proud of but it may be necessary for hive safety.]
The queen lays eggs of varying sizes that determine the type born. Praetorians are matriarch born children of the queens impregnated directly from the queen.
Ar-Zerg hybrid are much different with some being too big to be birthed by birthmothers. The largest of theses tribrids are ultrahydralisks of which there are only three at any given time (why will be explained in the next chapter.
