Dammit.
I gritted my teeth together in frustration as I finally pushed my one foot out the door.
I didn't know how long I was in that room for, but it felt like hours. Hours of pain shooting from my neck and pulsating through other parts of my body. Hours of me trying to push myself up from the ground, only for my arms to give out on me as I felt my muscles contract every few seconds.
Sweat covered my entire body as I had laid there dying of heat. But the countless minutes that seemed like hours finally payed off as I had managed to push myself up onto my feet.
My legs wobbled with each step I took, as the mark Orochimaru placed on my neck continued to shoot shocks through my body.
And he was the one that promised me he wouldn't hurt me.
I was so overheated and it felt as if the world was suffocating me so much that I had ripped off my veil, throwing it to the ground.
I didn't care right now. I needed to get out of here before I passed out from my stupid temperature.
Several minutes passed and I had gone only halfway through this narrow stone passage before I collapsed onto my knees.
My vision was slowly getting more blurred as I felt my body rock to the side.
I groaned more in annoyance than pain as I dragged myself up onto the wall, forcing my legs to move down the hall.
The second I reached the exit, the iron door flung open, revealing the blurred figures of Kakashi and Amari. The real Amari.
"Genari!" She gasped, her tone mixed in shock, worry, and a little bit of anger (probably from me escaping the hospital).
I laughed.
-
Kakashi Hatake
Genari was a tan person. She was always tan, no matter the season. Her skin color stayed consistent.
But right now, she looked pale as a ghost, sweat covering her from head to toe. Her sealing veil was gone from her eyes as her teal eye was shifted to a pulsating gold, the scar across her face looking inflamed.
Amari scooted in front of me, rushing to Genari's aid. The second she pressed her hand against Genari's forehead, she gasped as she flinched her hand back.
"Is it her temperature?"
"She's burning up. She feels like boiling water, Kakashi." Amari spoke, her tone shaky.
I approached them, placing my hand on the small of Amari's back.
"Get medical. We need to get this taken care of without making a huge scene." I said.
But that seemed to go through only one ear and out the other as she held a struggling Genari in her arms.
"Amari."
"Yes. Yes, of course." She said, before placing Genari in my arms.
And with that, Amari disappeared.
I placed my hand over Genari's forehead. Amari sure wasn't lying when she said Genari felt like boiling water.
I tried to ignore the fanged curse mark Genari had on the side of her neck, the same exact one as Sasuke's. I'd have to take care of that later.
