Chapter 10: New Beginnings
Ivy
A month had passed since I last spoke to Kellen, and it was honestly killing me inside. The grand opening for my shop was a few weeks ago, and it was a huge success thanks to Jinsu and Brandi. They both had the store packed from wall to wall, and we made amazing sales.
Jinsu and I had become fast friends, and it was strictly that...friends. He hadn't tried to pressure me into anything, and I was forever grateful for that. Tahj and Kellen of course still kept in contact so Caya saw him every once in awhile. He still wasn't speaking to her, and honestly I don't blame him.
I was slowly coming to terms with the fact that Kellen wanted nothing more to do with me, however I just wanted to see Amir. I missed him so bad that it physically hurt my heart. I just wanted to hold him in my arms, kiss him, and tell him I love him.
I sighed leaning back against the wall, blinking back tears. I was supposed to be going out with Jinsu in a few and he would know something was wrong with me. Glancing at the time on my phone, I noticed it was almost time for him to come pick me up. I pushed all thoughts of Kellen and Amir to the back of my mind, and prepared myself for my day with Jinsu.
**
I laughed along with Jinsu as we maneuvered our way into this unknown building. Upon picking me up he blindfolded me, and wouldn't tell me where we were going until we got there.
"Okay, I'm tired of waiting," I pouted. "You know I hate surprises so just take the blindfold off!" I demanded.
Jinsu's sweet voice only chuckled in my ear, his lower hand on my back guiding me in the right direction.
"Patience is a virtue young Ivy," he laughed.
"And that's one virtue I'm not interested in obtaining," I laughed with him. I abruptly stopped walking causing Jinsu's body to crash right into mine. His breath got caught in his throat, and he let out a low grunt.
"Goodness Ivy, try not to do things like that will you?" His voice was strained.
I laughed innocently, and started back walking.
"We're here," Jinsu's voice tickled my ear. I could feel him removing the blindfold causing me to hold my breath in anticipation. The last time I had been blindfolded Kellen had taken me on a romantic date on a yacht.
I opened my eyes to be met with an indoor/outdoor ziplining adventure. My face immediately broke out into a wide-toothed grin. I was bouncing around like a child on the inside.
I turned to Jinsu with a face full of excitement, "Oh my goodness, let's go!" I squealed, not wanting to waste anymore time. I was more than ready to get started.
"Well I'm glad you're excited. I thought we could do things a little different this time around."
And different it was. We usually went out to lunch or dinner, sometimes we saw a movie. This was definitely something I could get used to, though.
