"I hate flying," Abby grumbled.

Austin chuckled and kissed her temple. She was worrying her thumb over the floral wallet phone case he had bought her last week, and her lower lip was turning different shades of red from the constant gnawing.

"We can just stay home if you want to."

She shook her head. They had discussed gaming conventions at length when he returned from the last one. She had promised to attend the next one. He wanted to see what this world was like.

"No, no, I'm okay."

He smiled and helped her buckle up. He placed some noise-cancelling headphones over her head and offered her a stick of gum. She melted at the concern he was showing for her and accepted the piece of gum. He buckled up his own seatbelt and relaxed. She smiled softly and scrolled through her music, debating which book to read for the flight.
