His heart was beating out of his chest, his palms were shaking, and his stomach was lurching. How were dates supposed to work? Twenty-three years, and never has he gone on a date. He nervously chewed on the skin around his thumb.
"Come here, Abby. You're worrying me."
He looked up at Austin. He was lounging on the couch, casually reading a novel Abel had out.
"Am I supposed to dress like a guy or a girl? Which do you like more? A girl, probably. Most guys like pretty girls."
Without noticing, Austin had snuck up on his younger, overly anxious friend. He dragged him to the couch with him and snuggled up against his petite frame.
"Just dress as yourself. Like I said before, you're beautiful either way."
