Chapter 3

You may be thinking "oh it's for the best that he now knows, it'll be fine.". You were wrong.

Right after telling Barry, he dragged me into the medical room and called Caitlyn, Cisco, and Wells and told them to get their asses to STAR ASAP.

"So you're telling us, you've known you are a meta-human, and told no one. I mean what can you even do?" Cisco asked while squinting his eyes.

Caitlyn was drawing blood and doing a full analysis of my body as my legs were swinging over the edge of the bed. Barry stood in the doorway leaning on the wall, staring intently at the floor.

"Basically, I can influence and create Ice, water, or fire." I said in an unemotional voice while watching Caitlyn poke me with a needle.

"Ms. Quest, how long have you had these abilities?" Dr. Wells asked with his hands folded together at his waist while staring at me curiously.

"Since the particle accelerator."

"Why didn't you tell us?" Barry asked still looking at the floor.

"I did. Like 20 minutes ago." Barry rolled his eyes.

"Why didn't you tell us sooner? Why didn't you tell me?" I saw the pain in his eyes. Bitch, are you trying to guilt trip me?

"Oh because it is so different from you not telling Iris. Sorry I forgot you were the only good one here."

Everything got quiet until I heard Cisco let out a small, quiet "get wrecked".

Barry flashed out of the room. "Trouble in paradise?" Cisco asks.

I scoff, "What paradise? You know I could literally murder him if we did anything." I said referring to my ice powers.

"Yeah, you're a real ice queen, metaphorically and literally. Wait! Ice Queen!" He looks around with hopeful eyes and his hands out. We all shrug.

"Not that great." Caitlyn says.

"What exactly are we debating?" Dr. Wells asks as Caitlyn, Cisco, and I walk towards the cortex.

"The average number of bugs Barry swallows on a daily basis." Cisco answers confidently.

"I look forward to seeing you accept your noble."

"As do I. I'll be in the back with a light up poster." We all chuckle until we finally walk into the cortex and aw Barry laying on the floor.

"Oh my god! Barry?!"

"13 fractures." Caitlyn says as I whistle.

"Going for a new record, Barr?" I ask and he squints his eyes at me. Oh, so I see we're still mad are we? Two can play at that game.

Caitlyn nods and simply adds "And that's only in his hand. You also have a concussion, three cracked ribs, and a bruised spleen. Even with your powers you'll need a few hours to heal."

"What exactly did you hit?" Dr. Wells asks with genuine curiosity.

"A man." Barry says and I tilt my head in confusion. "A big, bad man. His skin changed when I hit him. Like, it turned into metal."

"Interesting. A man of steel." Dr. Wells said almost giggling to himself.

"That was pretty lame, Doctor." I state but still giggle.

"You went after a meta-human alone?" Cisco asks. "Dude, why didn't you call us?"

"I didn't know what he was. Besides, I was off-duty."

"Tsk tsk tsk, excuses excuses." I say.

"You're lucky he didn't knock out your teeth. Those puppies don't grow back." Cisco added, ignoring the obvious tension in the room.

"The strange thing is I feel like I knew him."

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"He said something that was familiar, but he's gonna hurt someone if we don't stop him. So how do I fight a guy that's made of steel?"

"We will find a way. Tonight, you heal." Dr. Wells says starting to wheel out of the room as Barry adds a small 'Yeah'.
