6 weeks earlier...
Connie was patiently waiting near Jacob's office. They were both working long shifts today and Connie hadn't seen Jacob all day. If he wasn't in resus, he was in meetings, and now, he was taking a phone call. But, she was determined to get at least 5 minutes with him once he has finished.
She checked the time and sighed in frustration. She had already been waiting for fifteen minutes.
Connie respected that Jacob liked to keep their relationship professional at work, but he had been especially busy this last week, including many nights working late. She was getting impatient.
"I don't know why you bother waiting around for him"
Connie wasn't surprised when she heard his voice behind her. She was aware that he liked her and was often reminded by him that Jacob wasn't right for her.
He came up beside her. "Why don't you let me show you what you're missing out on..."
It was so tempting. She glanced back at Jacob, still deep in conversation and rolled her eyes, of course he was still busy.
She turned back to face him and her mouth formed a playful smile. "Well, I suppose there's no harm done if nobody knows. I guess we could say I'm merely exploring my options..." He retuned the playful look. "Meet me upstairs in two minutes"

She closed the door behind her as she entered the staff room.
He grinned when he saw who it was "ah Connie, finally come back for more? What took you so long?"
Connie gave him a disapproving look.
"I meant it when I told you it was never going to happen again! You know I'm with Jacob, it was just a stupid mistake. I'm actually here because there's something I need to tell you..."
"What is it?"
"I'm pregnant Cal. And It's yours"
Cal opened his mouth in shock. "Are you kidding? Does Jacob know?"
"He thinks it's his. But Cal, it has to stay that way, he can never find out. No one can ever know about us, it didn't mean anything and I have regretted it ever since. He would never forgive me"
Cal took a moment to process what she was telling him.
"Connie, I'm sorry, but I can't watch him raise my child, believing it's his own. I want to be a part of this baby's life. If you don't tell him, I will."
Connie stared in horror.
Things had just got a lot more complicated.
