HI GUYS OMG I AM SO SO SO SO SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN OVER A YEAR LIKE GUYS SO SO SORRY. School consumed all of my time and my friggin' laptop won't work so yeah. Anywho, to make it up to you, I'll be updating three chapters today. Enjoy my loyal people :*

(Recap from last chapter: Standing in front of me was Mike. He's my bestfriend. He was taller than me. ( Well , he should be since he's a football quaterback ) He's got brownish hair and sparkling brown eyes. Which he got from Mrs. Martinez . He looked hot today, wearing his varsity jacket over his fitted gray shirt that fitted enough for me to outline his abs. Dang. He is hot. Oh yeah, he's the only guy I don't hate. He's ---

" Done checking me out? "

I was disturbed again by a still smirking Mike.

" What do you want? "

Well, I didn't bother to act cool around him. He knew I was always in a bad mood.

" Oh, come on. Didn't you miss me? "

He said flashing his cute eyes. Oh yeah, he went to New York for a photoshoot for a Sport Magazine.

" Yeah I did. "

" Good. Cuz You and I are gonna go get Vanilla with Chocolate and Sprinkles Ice Cream. "

Ughhh. He still remembered my favorites.

" Sounds cool. Leggo. But your paying. " I said. A smirk on my lips.

" Of course MM. " And he still remembered my childhood nickname.

" Let's go get my Ice Cream, Microphone . " I said, giggling as he fumed in anger. Well, he plays the childhood game, I play along.)

CHAPTER 5 - You scream, I scream, we all scream, FOR ICE CREAM!

He grabs my hand, and entwins my fingers with his. We then walk to Sally's Ice Cream Parlor. This was what we usually do since we were kids. Me and him, walk, hand in hand, to Sally's for Ice cream.

After 5 minutes of walking, we strolled by the playground. As kids, me and Mike would usually stop by the swings and slides with.... Well, it was all past now.

As soon as I caught sight of the swings and slides, I faced front and continued to walk through, with Mike rubbing his free hand up and down my arm in a comforting manner.

"It wasn't your fault." He whispers.

I nod. Not trusting my voice. I only act myself when I'm around Mike. He was with me through thick and thin. I loved the guy. But only as a brother. Brother. I sigh.

We finally reached the parlor and when we walked in, I was greeted by the smell of Ice cream and strawberries. The bell which was located at the top of the door jingled, and Sally came out. She had long white hair, with wrinkles covering her once beautiful face. You could easily tell she was once beautiful because of the pictures hanging around the parlor.

When she reached us, she immediately squealed and wrapped her arms around us. We did the same. We have grown to love this woman. She even gives us free ice cream sometimes. Which was a bonus for me.

"Oh, MM, Microphone, how long has it been?" She says and smile up to us. I swear I felt Mike flinch when Sally called him by his nickname. Unfortunately for him, Sally caught the movement and raised her hand to his cheeks, pinched them and said " Whatcha flinching about dear one?"

This action caused me to giggle. Yup. This is my family alright. I only act myself around these two. I giggled more when Mike reached up and pinched Sally's cheeks. Soon, both of them had one hand to a cheek. I laughed and broke up the two. They were just adorable. Okay, I said adorable. Good thing, this stuff only stays in my head.

"Okay okay you two. Sally, can we get the usuals please?" I said. Giving her the puppy dog eyes. '

“Sure you can honey, no need for those big blue eyes.” As if to prove her point, she said “ It’s on the house”

“No! It’s Mike’s treat.” I said, at the same time as Mike said “Horaay! Saved by Sally“. But when he heard my words, he looked at me at an incredible speed I’m sure he had a whiplash.

“But why?” He asks.

“Because” I reason. “It’s always Sally’s treat and you gave me your word that you’d treat me.”

At which he grunted. “Fine.”

So then we had our ice creams and Sally sat with us and we talked like we haven’t seen each other for years. Which is probably true anyways. I just enjoyed the moment. Savoring every second that passed by. No one knows when this will end. Only God does. And God can be mischievous at times.

When Sally finally left to serves some other costumers, I asked Mike.

“Mike?”

“Yeah?”

“Why are you still friends with me? I mean, wasn’t..” I trailed off. Not really wanting to say his name. Just thinking it makes me want to roll over and cry. Oh goodness, why am I thinking of crying. Crying is for the weak.

“C’mon MM, I was best friends with the two of you. Sure, I may have known him longer than I’ve know you. But even if he isn’t here, You’re still my best friend as I am to you. It’s kind of like a give and take situation. I give you friendship, you return it.” That was the only thing I could make out from his words. The rest were mumbled to himself, never to be known by any other besides himself.

I couldn’t find the words to let him know how I feel. Instead I just started to cry. He came to my side and hugged me. Assuring everything will be okay. But I know it will never be. I was the cause.

God, I missed him so much. If only I could take back time I would choose to be in his place and he on mine. I just wanted fun. I’m sorry I wanted fun.

“Shhh. It wasn’t your fault. Shhh. Everything will be okay. Focus on the good stuff.” Mike cooed in my ear.

I hurt him too. Why wasn’t he angry at me? Simple. Because he cares about me too. But instead of sinking myself deep into these negative thoughts, I decided to do what Mike told me.

When I Stopped crying and had returned to normal breathing, Jake quickly diverted my attention.

“Hey MM! I have this football game tomorrow night. Wanna go and wear my jersey? It would be afternoon. Just after classes. Then maybe we can go get dinner somewhere” I know for a fact that Mike wasn’t asking me out on a date. He was just like this.

“Awwww. Sure Mike. But I can’t get dinner with you tomorrow. I have to fly to New York as I have a guesting in America’s Next Top Model.”

And just like that, my attention was grabbed to another thing. Leaving all negative thoughts back behind where I usually left them. Secured in a box with so many padlocks you can’t count them. The number of padlocks is ,maybe, the number of walls I have built up for my whole life. But no one would know. No one but him.
