Travis^^^

"Are you freaking kidding me?" I asked throwing my head in my hands that were resting on my knees. Travis gave me a scared look, obviously not understanding why I was so upset.

"Is that a problem?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "I thought you'd be proud or happy for him at least." He told me and his ignorance was quite laughable to me in that moment.

I sighed. "I am." I lied. I have to put up this show pretending that I'm okay when I'm definitely not. Of course I'm not. "A lot of things have happened recently and it's just catching up to me." I sighed not being able to completely lie to him. A lot of things have happened. I just can't tell him. Which sucks.

Travis gave me a sad smile. "Tiffany's gonna die too, isn't she?" He asked me. He had a look on his face that said he already knew the answer.

"I'm gonna hope not." I said and a silence fell. I looked towards a commotion at the front of the school. A gurney was being pulled out by paramedics out of the front doors with, obviously, Tiffany on it. The paramedics put her in the ambulance and drove off, the firetrucks in tow. The police officers came out a little after that. Reese, Tanner, and Stella were standing at the front of the school near the benches with the police officers questioning them.

"Can I ask you something?" Travis asked breaking the silence. "And don't you dare say that I just did." He said with a laugh.

I smiled and nodded for him to continue. "Victor didn't just happen to move here recently." He said, not looking at me. "There's a reason, isn't there?"

Why did Travis have to be so observant? It's probably a blessing and a curse for him to be like that. Can I tell him the truth? Probably not. I really don't want to keep anything from Travis, but I can imagine that Victor won't be happy with me if I tell him anything, so I decided to just lie. It's the easy way out. "I don't know what you're talking about, Travis." I told him with a sigh.

"Whatever." He answered, obviously not believing me, but he doesn't push it. He looked over at our friends still talking with the officers. "Reese won't ever figure it out, will he?" Travis asked sadly picking and twirling the grass beneath us.

I laughed. "Nope. You're definitely gonna have to eventually man up and tell him."

Travis just laughed. I know he never will. That's just how Travis is. He's never been good at expressing his emotions for as long as I can remember. He once said that emotions distract him or something. From what, I'll probably never know. We talk about a lot of things, but not everything. Travis sighed from beside me. "We should probably go down there and answer some questions." He said standing up from the tree roots and offering me a hand.

I took it and we walked towards the front of the school. Stella and Tanner both looked shell shocked and Reese, poor Reese, he looked like his puppy just got hit by a car. His head down, shoulders slumped. I sat next to him on a bench and placed a hand on his back. "Reese?"

He didn't look up at me when he responded. "She wasn't breathing." He said in a shaky voice and continued. "When they took her away."

"I'm sorry." I told him, not knowing what else to say. I patted his back awkwardly. Reese seems to be taking it well for the most part. There were no tears or angry tantrums so that has to mean something. If only he knew that her death and Claire's death were my fault. Now two people have died because of me. Just lovely isn't it? I stood from the bench and went inside the school to find Victor.
