"Well, what do we do now?" Louis asks. I sniffle before I look at him tiredly.
"I go back home. Back to everything I know and try to forget." I say.
"Wait, Cass why do you have to go back to the States? Why can't you stay here...with us?" El asks.
"Because this isn't my home. I promise, I'll stay in touch with you guys, though. Let's just...I just want to get back to the flat so I can pack." I say, getting off the couch as I do.
"Cassidy, wait." Will says and he and Alice stand in front of me.
"If there's anything, anything at all that we can do to help you, give us a call." He says and hands me a slip of paper. I give them a small, appreciative smile.
"Thanks. I will." I say.
We drive back to the flat in silence, no one knowing what to say. I know that Lou and El want to hold me and tell me that everything's gonna be okay, but we all know that's a lie.
When we get back to the flat, I go straight inside, ignoring the extra car in the driveway. I walk inside and gasp when I see someone standing right in the middle of the living room. Everybody's heads snap towards the door as I enter.
"Mum?"
She sighs in relief and rushes towards me.
"Oh, Cassidy thank goodness. Where in the world have you been?" she asks, pulling me into a hug.
"I think the better question is what are you doing here?" I ask, a hint of annoyance in my voice.
"What do you mean what am I doing here? I came to see you." she lies.
"What the hell's going on here?" I ask. I'm getting extremely annoyed and considering I just wanted to go up to my room and cry my eyes out for a few days, I'm not in the mood to deal with my mother right now.
"Cassidy, there's no reason to get upset. And stop cursing. It's not becoming. I called your mother down here." Derek interrupts. I turn to him.
"What?! Why in the name of all that is sane would you do that?" I ask him.
"Because. You were getting out of hand and I knew the only one who could save you from doing something extremely stupid would be your mother." he explains.
"He told me everything Cassidy. Why would you ever want to give up everything you have for just one person?" she asks but I don't answer her.
"Cassidy listen, I was just trying to help. I did it for your benefit. Not mine." Derek says, putting an arm around my shoulder. I shrug it off.
"No! I'm tired of this! All of this! Derek, you have no fucking right to be in my fucking business! How dare you call my mother up here?!" I yell at him.
"I...I just...we..." he sputters. I sigh and I can feel the tears coming already. Without looking back, I rush up the stairs and into my room, slamming the door so that everyone can hear it.
~Harry's POV~
"Ugh. Men." she scoffs with a smile and then walks across the hall and into her room. My smile quickly fades as soon as she's out of sight. I finally got what I wanted. It wasn't easy, I'll admit, but when you've got skills as good as mine.
Before I can even think about what I'm doing, I grab my black duffel bag and start packing just a few of my things. A couple shirts, some jeans, my boots, and then I'm ready to go. I step out of my room, carefully closing the door as quietly as I possibly can so that Cass doesn't hear me.
On my way down the stairs, I run into Lou.
"Har? What are you doing?" he asks, eying my duffel bag.
"It's none of your damn business." I growl and try to step around him but he steps in my way. Big mistake. My fist connects with his face and he stumbles backwards in just enough time for me to rush down the stairs and make it to my car without any further interruption.
I drive to my old flat and burst through the door, finding Will there.
"Glad you could show up." he says sarcastically while putting up a couple pictures of him and his girlfriend up on the fireplace.
"I still don't see why you won't go with me again this year." I say.
"I told you. I'm never going back there ever again. I promised Alice." he says.
"I don't understand that either. Why stick to just one girl when you can have all the girls you want." I say and take a seat on the couch, propping my feet up on the table.
"Because I love her."
I laugh. "Dude do you know how stupid you sound? You sound like some love-sick puppy. Love is nothing but a four letter word and it obviously has a different meaning to you than it does to me. Love to me I an action. I make love. Frequently."
"You're disgusting you know that?! You are really sick! You took a poor, innocent girls virginity and you're acting as if it doesn't effect you at all!" he yells. "You're not fooling me, Harry. I know you felt something when you slept with her, didn't you?! And afterwards you felt something was different. And now, you're pushing down the guilt because you know what you did is wrong!"
I don't say anything, just glare at him.
"You know what? Get out!" he yells.
"What?"
"Did I say it in a way to complicated for you? Let me put it in a way you'll understand, then. Get the fucking hell out of my house and don't even think about coming back!" he yells.
Grinding my teeth, I get up and exit his house. No matter how much I try to push down his words, they keep replaying in my mind like a song on repeat.
I get a text from Brian.
Brian: On your way here?
Me: Yea. I'll be there in about an hour or so.
Brian: So, I'm guessing you succeeded?
Me: Yep. Harder than I expected but the outcome was the same.
Brian: Well, Styles, you win hands down this time.
Me: Yea I guess
Brian: Not having second thoughts are you?
Me: Of course not. I'll be there
Brian: You better
