Cara's POV:
I'm not blind. Asher Michaels is quite good looking. Not that that means anything. There's shit tonnes of good looking guys everywhere, right?
He's been hanging out with us for the last month, and it's been great having him around. He's kinda become one of my best friends. Not better than Halley, but a very close second. He's been there for me. He's heard the stories, but he hasn't judged me.
I would be lying if I said in the past month I haven't developed even the slightest of attraction towards him. Of course I have. Every girl at the school has, but they stay away because of the idea that I'm his girlfriend. I have no idea where they got that from though. Maybe it's the fact that we're always giving each other lifts to school, or that were constantly holding hands, or that he requested the locker next to mine. Which is only so he's always there when I need to talk.
He's been on a few dates, but he's apparently 'not clicked' with them. I hope that he realises that I'd be happy to go on a date with him. Although he most likely won't.
He's hinted that he likes me, but he has yet to act on it. It's senior year for gods sake, it's not like we're three and can't accept that one of us and/or both of us has a crush on the other.
I think I'm gonna be the grown up and ask him out. Although I don't want to be rejected. At all.
"Whatever are you so deep in thought over Caroline?" My mother asked.
"N-nothing mother." lies. I was thinking about Asher.
"Dear, I know you like that boy... Ashton is it?"
"It's Asher not Ashton." I corrected.
"That's beside the point. You like him." She argued. One thing I hate about her is that she's never been wrong about anything in my life. She can read me like a book.
"Yeah, and?"
"And, nothing. You know his mother is a close friend of mine, and she's invited us to dinner this evening. Maybe you should ask him on a private outing while we're there." She smiled. Oh and she'd taken a liking to Asher.
"I can't do that mother. It's not a good decision. The second I ask him on a date, that could be the end of a perfectly good friendship, and there is no point in risking what I already have to fulfil a biological urge that all humans alike share. It's unethical."
"Sweetheart, at least dress nice and talk to him. If you're not going to ask him, get him to ask you." She urged. She wasn't wrong. If I didn't ask him, he would ask me.
"Fine. What should I wear?"
"Something nice. Not too revealing, but not too conservative either, something similar to what you usually wear, just slightly fancy. Nothing out of your comfort zone would be best. Maybe a dress and a pair of converse."
"Perfect, I'll dig something out. Thank you mother." I smiled. It's moments like this that I'm glad she's in the fashion industry.
I ran up the stairs, mother said we were leaving in half an hour so I had to get ready quickly. Which I did. I kept my make-up natural, my hair in it's normal wavy form and I got in a dress and converse.
