Chapter 2

Kiras PoV

I bent down to pick my books up off the corridor floor.

This was becoming a regular thing for me- people pushing me, shoving me, making fun of me. I was used to it to be honest.

It didn't bother me anymore.

I spent more time picking up my belongings than I used them.

"Ugh it's kira," Jodie said as she walked down the corridor with her freaky squad. All with orange faces and pale necks.

That's the polite way of putting it.

"Jodie," I acknowledged her and walked away.

"Excuse me? Did you just walk away?"

"Yes..."

I continued walking.

"You'll never have any friends the way your going!" One of her followers spat. I didn't even know there names.

"And you'll never have any dignity of you keep wearing those clothes,"

"What did you say?"

I reached the toilets and walked inside, then locked a cubicle door behind me.

"Oh that's it, hide away, run away- chicken!"

I learned to shut myself away in this sort of situation. I'd rather get called a chicken than all the other things they come up with.

I heard the toilet door shut and the noise of heels get quieter. They had left me alone finally.

I didn't like trouble.

I liked to stay under the radar hoping no body would notice me. That way there was no bad attention.

"Kira? Are you ok?"

"Mia?"

"I saw them all walk out here and I knew you would be in here, they didn't hurt you did they?"

Mia was my best friend, my only friend really. I wouldn't be without her.

"No they didn't I'm fine don't worry,"

"That's good, now come on, let's go shopping, schools over."

"I've got no money!"

"Yes but I have, and it's my best friends 18th birthday in 3 days!"

We were leaving school this year and I was so happy, I couldn't wait to get out of this place.

So that was what we did. We went to the local shopping centre which was only about a ten minute walk.

First we went in pandora where she bought me a padlock shaped charm, she said it was like our friendship.

Then we went into hollister where we both bought a dress to wear on my birthday and a new spray each.

Next we went into jack wills where she bought me some socks, because she knew I loved jack wills socks.

Finally we went into Victoria's Secret where she bought herself some underwear.

It was only a short shopping trip but it was what I needed to calm me down after a long day.

When I finally arrived home it was quite late. Mom and dad were already in bed, as was Jordan my brother. I went into my room and began unpacking my early birthday presents from Mia.

I sat on my bed and checked my phone for the next few minutes. I enjoyed the peacefulness silence bought.

I couldn't help but feel like some one was watching me. I felt like there was someone nearby.
