Chapter 5

Kiras PoV

It was 4 days since the event as I called it. I hadn't told anyone except Zoe who I hadn't spoken to since the texts.

It was Saturday and mom sent me into town to get me some nice shoes because she said I had too many dresses and not enough shoes. I went into Office because I could always find what I wanted in there.

I tried on a pair of uggs but they didn't have the colour I wanted. I also tried on a pair of converse but they were too big. Finally I ended up with a pair of black toms. They were casual and summery but they could also be quite dressy.

I walked out the shop and began walking down the street towards the bus when someone grabbed my arm and dragged me into a near by alley way.

It all happened so fast, I got lost in the moment, it happened in a blur. When we arrived in the alleyway the person pinned me up against the wall, I noticed it was Joe.

"Why did you tell Zoe?" He yelled.

"Zoe who?"

"Zoe my sister!" He punched the wall really hard next to my head, it made me jump. "She found me - thanks to you! Why did you tell her?"

"I-I...."

"You what? Why did you tell her answer me!"

"I needed advice!"

"Ugh!" He let go of me and I caught my breath again. He walked round in circles hitting his head.

"Why was I so stupid? Why?" He mumbled to himself.

"Wait did you say Zoe was your sister?"

"YES!"

"Zoe is my cousin..."

He looked me in the eye. I couldn't make out his feelings but I knew it wasn't good.

"But my auntie and uncle didn't have kids when I was around!" He said.

"I was adopted," I whispered.

"I ran away," he mumbled, almost as though he was ashamed.

That's why Zoe was so secretive when I text her about Joe. That's why Joe came to our house. That makes Joe my cousin.

"I can't trust you..." He murmured.

"What?"

"I can't trust you to keep a secret, I've got no choice,"

That was when I got really scared.
