Love me Timber

You are my old, worn-out boat,
You cocoon me safely like a coat.
No harm could ever come to me,
Because you'd take all the damage from this treacherous sea.

Your sails are sometimes majestic, sometimes dreary,
Yet I wouldn't trade you for anything else because I love that so dearly.
Others may have used this boat,
But it only cocoons me safely like a coat.
When we sail together on the open sea,
All I can see is you and me-
Together.

The prow isn't on a set course,
Yet I know we can go anywhere with full force
And speed,
Faster than any old noble steed,
Because the unique scratches on your side
Make me want to hold you and never leave you alone on the tide.

I want our journey to always be sunny and full of light,
So bright, because-
When the rain drips onto your deck;
I'll know it was me, and not a rain check.
