"I'm sorry - I couldn't protect you." Hanbin looks at me with concern in his eyes. "Has he hurt you?"
I look away. "No."
"Stop lying to me, Min Hyo." He puts his face in front of mine. "What happened to that loyalty and trust we had in each other?"
"What do you think, Hanbin?" I look at him. "You called me a stalker and told me to never come back to you. Maybe that's what crushed our friendship."
He touches my arm and I flinch away. "We never ... had something more than that?"
"I don't know. Did we?" I say harshly.
The iron door slams open and Hyuk paces in. "Time's up, Kim Hanbin. I hope you had a nice time with Min Hyo. You'll be seeing her again soon, don't worry."
"I don't think I'm going anywhere." Hanbin pushes Hyuk's hands off his shoulders and glares at him. "And if I am, Min Hyo's coming with me."
Hyuk laughs harshly. "I'm sorry, but that's not how this game works. I have Min Hyo for a very personal reason, and there's nothing you can do about it. That's how the deal works."
"What?" Hanbin leans in. "There was a deal."
"You haven't heard?" Hyuk shrugs. "The Government has assigned me to do this job of containing one female ghost blah blah blah I've gone over this before."
Hanbin laughs very suddenly and I jump. "Funny. So if I called the Government, they'd say that you were working for them?"
Hyuk laughs with what? Nervousness? "Ani, there's no need for that. I know what I'm doing."
Hanbin pulls out his phone. "Is that so? Well, if you're so confident about that, surely I can give them a call?" Hanbin begins dialling a number, but Hyuk places a hand on his arm.
"Please, don't do that. I ... Only a few of the people know about this." Hyuk says, his face gradually growing more red.
"You don't work for the Government ..." I say out loud without noticing. "You've been lying this whole time."
They both look at me; Hanbin with a smile stretching across his face; Hyuk with a massive frown and eyes wide open.
Hanbin claps. "Yes! I knew it!"
"Guys - even if that's what you think ... there's no way you can prove it." Hyuk finally sighs a breath of relief, thinking that he's beaten us.
"Apart from if I call the Government; take a photo of this situation; and call the police." Hanbin spells out.
Hyuk's smile fades. He knows he's been caught. "But there's no need for this if I let her go, right? That's all you want isn't it?"
"But you might do this to other innocent people." Hanbin shakes his head. "I can't let you do that. I'm sorry, Hyuk."
Hanbin turns to me. "Take my hand, Min Hyo."
I look down at my hands tied to the chair and roll my eyes. "I can't, you dumbo. I'm tied up."
Hanbin rolls his eyes back at me. "I know, but will you take my hand?"
"I-" I think. Think about the things he said to me that have hurt me, thinking about our tight past together. "Yes."
