I didn't want myself to hear what Hanbin yelled after me, but I knew I couldn't block it out.

Now I keep that sentence hidden away in my mind for if he ever hurts me again.

'I will protect you, no matter what, even if we hate each other'.

"Have a seat."

He motions for me to sit down on a large chair. He just invited me over to his house for lunch.

"Now, I just need you to keep still, Min Hyo." He comes towards me with a very grim look on his face, as if he's going to regret his actions. He reaches forward towards a button on the side of the chair, and hesitates. "Forgive me."

He presses the button and iron hands clamp over my wrists and ankles.

My eyes widen and I begin to shake my arms and legs, trying to break free. "What the?"

He kneels down in front of me, inches away from my face. "Min Hyo, it was not my idea to do this, I promise. I'm just a scientist working for the government. When I told them about you ... boy were they excited!"

"What're you doing? You're scaring me."

He pouts. "Aw, don't be scared, baby. I'm afraid I'm the one who does the dirty work for the government. If I was in a different department, I don't think we'd ever be friends."

"We're not friends!" I hiss.

"Oh!" He clasps his hands to his chest. "That was mean. You hurt my feelings."

"Look at you now." I scoff. "You think I'm hurting your feelings, when you're about to kill me."

He laughs, and it sounds harsh and cold. "Min Hyo, I already told you - I'm not going to kill you-" He searches for the right word. "-I'm simply going to test on you. That's all."

"That's all? Are you serious? Wah, I really thought-" I stop talking when I see him pull out a long, thin needle.

His eyes blaze. "You're about to have a very rough night, Min Hyo."
