The light was peaking through the window and Avery started to open her eyes to see the light blue sky getting lighter. She rubbed her eyes before stretching and turned around to find Harry was missing. She decided not to panic but rather to look for him calmly.

She raised from the sleeping bag to find the fire still ablaze. He couldn't be far. She looked down at the sweater he gave her and breathed in his familiar scent. She frowned as she rose up to look around for him. He's not in the house.

She returned to the living room and decided to lay back down on the sleeping bag. Maybe he went outside? She found the backpacks were still on the ground so he didn't leave without her. She then heard the door creak and instantly turned around. She found Harry with a stack of food and a smile on his face.

"Hungry?"

Avery nodded before rising to a sitting position. Harry brought the food over and laid down next to her as they watched the fire and ate.

"I woke up early to get food before we left. We actually need to start going soon," he said as he looked at her and Avery nodded in response. They did have to go before Brinn found out.

She finished chewing and looked at the fire intently. "Brinn's going to be so pissed," she ran her fingers through her brown hair. Harry looked at her worried face and a frown shows up on his own face.

"Avery, we're still here. We can go back if you don't want to do this," Harry suggested.

Avery shook her head no. "All I've wanted since I left Devora was to go on an adventure again. To not feel safe. To not feel that big wall around us. I've wanted to feel free. Brinn can't do anything about it. I'm old enough to make my own decisions. I just don't want her to be alone," Avery looked at Harry who was watching her intently. Harry gulped and looked away from her eyes.

"It can be hard, leaving somebody you love," Harry nodded to himself, "but you have got to remember that she isn't alone. You're not leaving forever."

They finished the rest of their food in peace. It seemed like ten minutes later and they were packing up again. Placing blankets inside of backpacks. Harry finished off and eyed Avery. "You ready?"

Avery nodded and looked down at his sweater. She slid off her backpack and started taking it off. She grabbed her leather jacket and placed that on instead. She retrieved the material she just took off and handed it to Harry. He smirked to himself. "You can keep it if you want. I have plenty more," he chuckled.

"You sure?" she asked, frowning at him.

"Yeah," he smiled down at her. He opened the door for her and she got out first, looking at the morning sky. She looked around before she started to walk, Harry walking next to her.

Harry scratched his hand and fiddled with his fingers. He would sigh quite frequently. Avery would just roll her eyes, not knowing what was wrong with the boy. She finally turned to him and said, "You alright?"

He looked up at her. "Hmm? Yeah, yeah. Perfect," he chuckled softly. She frowned at him and kept walking. After a few moments he finally spoke. "Yeah there was actually something on my mind," he admitted. Avery started to pick up the pace as some patrol came into view.

"No shit. Alright tell me," she answered cautiously, eyeing the two men who were talking instead of doing their jobs.

"I was wondering about the Reapers," he continued. Avery took her attention away from the two men and eyed him. "Like, they have a leader right? But who is that leader?"

Avery shook her head. "I can't answer that. To tell you the truth I don't know. Neither do I care." Harry nodded in response. "Do you?"

"Probably more than I should. What does he do it for?" Harry asked.
