"Hey, we need to talk, like now!" Brinn urged Avery as she quickly glanced at Harry but returned her attention to Avery.

"Yeah sure," Avery nodded quickly. "Come to Harry's, it's closer."

Brinn nodded and with that they all started making their way to Harry's house. Brinn was watching her surroundings carefully as she took in the scenery around her. Then her eyes landed on someone in particular.

"That kid is following us," Brinn nodded over to Adley. Avery turned to look at her then back at Brinn and she slowly shook her head.

"That's Adley, she's ours," Avery said softly so that Adley would not hear.

"For crying out loud Avery! You two adopting now?" Brinn spoke through gritted teeth.

"Her mom got killed in the surge okay, what the fuck did you want me to do?" Avery whispered and yelled at Brinn in response. Brinn just shook her head and kept walking.

When they made it to the building they quickly shuffled inside. Harvey and Adley disappeared, knowing it was their cue to leave, while Harry sat with Avery and Brinn sat on the couch across from them.

Harry sat next to Avery and unconsciously grabbed Avery's hand to hold, prepared for any news they might receive. Brinn immediately noticed and glanced down at their hands then back at them.

"So you guys a thing now?" Brinn nodded to their hands.

Avery frowned as she looked down then took notice of what Brinn was staring at. Avery shifted uncomfortably but lifted her head back up to show a little more authority.

"Yes," Avery replied simply. Avery didn't really know what they were, she just knew they were trying to make things work. Harry on the other hand, had other plans.

Brinn just nodded and looked up at the ceiling before looking back down at them. "I don't know how to say this," she started and shook her head while breathing in deeply. There was a long moment of silence as Brinn tried to gather up the words to tell Avery the news.

"Fuck Brinn just tell me!" Avery shouted impatiently.

"Okay then shit, I'm fucking pregnant," Brinn said.

Avery's eyes widened along with Harry's. "Wh-What? How? With who?" Avery started asking questions but could not form a full sentence. Suddenly the news she heard earlier had a personal effect on her and her family. This was not good.

"Avery, I don't know what to do," Brinn croaked as the tears started to weld up in her eyes.

"Are you sure you are?" Avery frowned and looked down at Brinn's stomach. There was no noticeable bump, but who knows how far along she was.

"Yes," Brinn answered while nodding her head.

"How do you know?" Avery questioned while scanning Brinn. She seemed so defenseless, a state Avery had never seen her in, not since Brinn's parents had died.

"I found a test at the Post, they always have some because they want women to get pregnant," Brinn explained further, but still left some details out.

"That doesn't even make sense...how did you even think to get a test?" Avery kept asking questions. She didn't even notice that she had pulled Harry's hand closer to her inner thigh in the process. Harry kept his eyes on Avery, absorbing her every reaction, including the small twitch of her eyebrows in frustration, the unconscious tightening of her hand around his, and the nervous sweat coming from her forehead that was barely visible. She was a sight indeed, and not even in her worse state did she breakdown. She knew this was not good but her years of fighting off her emotions led to her solid poker face in this scenario.
