She reached over towards the gun and hovered over it. The attraction it pulled to her was infuriating and it made her want to let all hell loose on the Reapers, but she knew damn well why she couldn't do that.

"Fuck!" She dragged on the word and fell to her knees in despair.

"Avery don't-don't ever touch a weapon. With your background, it would be impossible to-to..."

"Mom!" A young Avery yelled at her dying mother.

She looked up at the shelf with the weapon, her dark eyes showing through the small slits in her hair. She rose to her feet and grabbed the gun, placing it in her backpack.

"Sorry mom..." she breathed before slamming the door shut.

"Where have you been?" Harry asked. Avery simply ignored him as she reached over to grab her black converse. They were one of the newest she had found in the Post and she liked them a lot. They matched perfectly with her all black ensemble which included black high waisted pants, a black tank top, and a simple black jacket.

"Put this on," she tossed Harry a beanie from a nearby drawer.

"Why?" Harry questioned as he lifted the beanie up and waved it in the air as if it was a foreign object.

"Because your hair is too fucking long and you need it out of your eyes for this," Avery said as she eyed him menacingly. He gave her a small smirk before placing the beanie on his head. He was quick to look at his reflection in the mirror and found that he was content with the new fashion choice.

"So what is this thing you're going to force me to do?" Harry questioned with a cynical smile.

"I'm not forcing you to do anything. You're going to do this because you owe me a favor. I helped you find your brother and you're going to help me find Brinn," Avery commanded as she got closer to him, making sure to point at him for extra authority.

"Fine with me. What about Harv?" Harry asked, suddenly serious.

"Take him. We can't risk more people getting taken because of an inattentive eye. We'll keep him safe," Avery explained to Harry as he nodded in understanding.

"Okay so any weapons?" Harry asked and Avery's eyes peeled in shock.

"Weapons? Are you kidding me? No, no weapons," she said and shifted uncomfortably.

"Okay well I thought since we are going to deal with fucking killers, that we'd bring a weapon or two," he raised his hand in defense.

"No," Avery shook her head and walked to the window. She looked out at the quiet town. "No weapons, just strategy. We get in, we find her, we get out. Simple. No killing has to be done and certainly no weapons," Avery said as she grabbed her backpack from the floor and placed it on one shoulder.

"And how do you expect us to do that? It's heavily guarded isn't it?" Harry questioned, evidently very confused with the plan.

Avery reached into the side of the backpack and brought out a small rectangular machine that was flashing red. She raised it and waved it a bit in the air as she demonstrated the technology to Harry.

"I stole this from Nate's house," she smirked at herself and brought the object down to look at it, "it looks like he had a plan already after some intense conversations with Preeya. He had a layout of what the building looks like and what to avoid, what places were more guarded than others. There are some air ducts big enough for us to crawl through. That's the plan," Avery looked up at Harry and he nodded.
