I was just about to say something to Caroline, when Harry beat me to the punch.
"What the fuck did you just call her?" he said, taking a step closer to her. Harry looked so menacing that I actually thought he might hit her.
"I...I...," Caroline stuttered, looking like she was going to piss her pants.
"I don't know how many times I'm going to have to tell you before you get it through your fucking head. I. Don't. Want. You."
"But--" she said.
"But nothing," Harry interrupted. "What we did was a one time thing and it's never gonna happen again. Stop acting as if I'm your boyfriend when in reality I'd rather poke my fucking eyes out than to have that be true. Do I make myself clear?"
Caroline nodded, looking like she was going to cry. Serves her right. She turned to walk away when Harry grabbed her arm, spinning her around until she was facing him again.
"And another thing, if you ever speak to Alice like that again.....well, let's just say that I won't be as nice as I'm being right now. Now leave."
And with that, Caroline threw me one final glare and left.
There was silence between Harry and I while he calmed down.
"You didn't have to do that, you know." I said to him as he walked me to me locker.
"Yes I did," he answered, "She can't just talk to you like that and get away with it."
"That's sweet." I said, blushing.
"I'm not a complete asshole, princess."
"Why do you call me that?" I asked, grabbing the books that I needed out of my locker.
"What? Princess?" I nodded. "Well because you're pretty and smart, like a princess. Plus, you kinda look like Belle a little."
I giggled at that. Yes, giggled. This kid was turning me into a thirteen year old girl, apparently.
"I don't understand you, Harry."
"What do you mean?" he said, looking confused.
"One minute you're mister motorcycle-riding badass, and the next you're this super sweet guy who defends me."
"I don't know, it's weird. I feel different with you," he shrugged. "I think I like you."
"You don't even know me."
"Well then let's change that," he said, smirking, making my heart feel like it was going to burst out of my chest.
"Wha-What?" I blubbered like an idiot.
Just then, the bell rung, signaling the beginning of first period.
"We'll talk later. I don't want you to be late again." Harry said, smirking at me, his green eyes sparkling with mischief. I smiled at him as I started walking away, thinking about what he just said. Suddenly he grabbed my hand, sending tingles up my arm. He stood there for a couple seconds, looking like he was debating something when suddenly he swooped down and placed a soft kiss on my cheek.
"Sorry," he said, looking anything but, "I couldn't resist."
I just stared at him as he walked down the hallway, dazed. That boy was going to be the death of me.
The classes dragged on and I couldn't concentrate, playing over the scene and touching my cheek again and again. His lips felt so soft.
Later that day, as I was relaying this morning's events to Danielle as we walked towards the cafeteria for lunch, I saw a huge crowd gathered around the end of the hall.
"What's going on?" asked Danielle.
"I don't know, let's go check it out." I said. As we got closer, I saw that two guys were fighting, the crowd egging them on. As I stood on my tip toes to try and get a look at their faces, I saw a flash of curly brown hair.
Uh-oh. This was not good.
