Ch.13
"Excuse me,do you know where a man called Bang Yongguk lives?" I asked one lady that was passing by.
"No,I'm sorry" She shook her head and walked away.I sighed and continued searching.
"Excuse me.Do you know where Bang Yongguk lives?" I asked for the 100th time that day.
"Down the street.Big white house with two cars outside.You'll recognize it easily"
"Thank you!" I bowed while smiling.Finally someone knew.I walked down the street while humming a song.I had a plan how to save her,if she was even there.I went to the police station earlier,but they didn't find anything new about her.I looked up and saw his house.I put my cap on and knocked on his door twice.I quickly put on my glasses so he wouldn't recognize me.I couldn't risk.
"Hello.How can I help you?" A maid opened and asked politely.
"Is Yongguk here?"
"No,he went somewhere"
I nodded."I need to ask one thing about the girl wh-"
"Song Lee Na" She cut me off."They are still searching for her"
"So,she isn't here?" I asked with eyes full of hope,but I tried to hide it.
"No.Now if yo-"
"Wait" I held the door with my hand."Where's her parent's house?"
"Use the bus and get off before the bridge.Their house is close.I can't tell you more.Goodbye" She slammed the door in front of my face,but I didn't care much.I was happy Lee Na wasn't there.I listened to her words and used the bus.I got off before the bridge and looked around.
"This must be it" I whispered when I saw a house few meters away.I took a deep breath and knocked.A familiar woman opened and eyed me.
"Who are you?" She asked.
I bowed and introduced myself."I'm Kihyun,an old friend of Lee Na"
"She had friends?I-I mean,welcome!" She said with a fake smile."Come in"
"So,how long you've known her?" She asked curiously as we sat on the couch.
"For few years.I heard that she ran away"
"Yeah.She was suppost to get married with her boyfriend.They were together for so long,I don't know why she did that all of a sudden" I clenched my fists when she spoke.How could she lie like that?She is her mom!
"Maybe she never knew him that well" I said calmly.
"No" She laughed and shook her head."He is a nice,kind-hearted and funny guy"
"I bet he is" I said remembering what happened when he came into my house."Can I go see her room?"
"Of course.Its in the end of the hall" I faked a smile and went to her room.No wonder Lee Na was like that.Her mom is the worst.I walked in her room and closed the door behind me.Her room was similiar to mine which suprised me.I found a bag and put some of her clothes in it.I threw it outside the window and made sure no one saw it.
"Thanks for letting me see her room" I said to her mom."I hope they find her soon.Say hi to her boyfriend Yongguk"
I was about to open the door when she spoke."How do you know his name?I never told you that" I cursed under my breath.I shouldn't have said it.
"I went to the police station earlier and they told me about him too.If you don't mind,I'll go now.It was nice meeting you" I quickly said and walked outside.I went behind the house,took the bag I threw and ran back home.That was really close.I knew she didn't believe me tho,but it wasn't important.I hoped I'll never see her again.I walked into my house and threw myself on the couch.I only needed to find her.I took my phone and sent her a message.I still had a bit of hope that she will answer.
Where are you? Kihyun
Even after few minutes,she didn't reply.
Listen,I need to see you as soon as possible.I'll be waiting for you at the park in 10 minutes.If I don't see you there,I'll give up.
I sighed and walked slowly to the park.I didn't sleep for the whole night.I couldn't stop thinking about her.I was tired of searching for her all the time,but I had to find her.I sat on the bench and waited.I was checking my phone every second,thinking she will call or reply on my messages.As 10 minutes passed by,I became impatient.I had hope that she will come,but she didn't.Maybe she really hated me.No wonder,I acted like a fool.I was ready to give up and leave when I noticed a girl in black clothes passing by.She lowered her head and looked away.She had a big glasses on,but somehow I knew it was her.
"Lee Na,is it you?" I asked and stood up.I thought she will stop and turn to me,but she started running away.
"Hey!" I yelled and ran after her.People stared at us weirdly,but it didn't bother me.I had a chance to bring her back with me.
"Stop running!Lee Na,come b-back…" I fell on the ground and breathed heavily."…with me" I stared at her back as she stopped running.She turned to me and took off her glasses.
"Lee Na" I called quietly."P-Please"
"Kihyun,go home" She said.I looked up and met her eyes.It was her.She came in the end.
"W-Wait" I said when she wanted to go.I stood up and walked slowly towards her.I held her hand tightly not letting her leave.
"You are coming home with me" I said.She shook her hand and pushed me away.
"No,Kihyun,no way.I'm fine,see?" She said with a weak voice.
"Whats wrong with you?" I asked worried.She was barely standing on her legs.
"I-I-" She stuttered and fell on the ground.
"Hey!" I yelled and quickly catched her."Wake up,hey" I kept shaking her,but she didn't open her eyes.I carried her in bridal style to my house.I was lucky it wasn't too far.I put her on the couch and covered her with a blanket.I was scared to call the doctor because he might recognize her.I wasn't a doctor and I knew nothing about it.
"What should I do?" I panicked.
"W-Water" She suddenly said.I ran to the kitchen and brought her a glass of water.I helped her sit and gave it to her.I watched her carefully as she drank it.
"Thanks" She said while looking down."I want to go,I can't stay here"
"Shut up" I said harshly.She looked at me with sad eyes,making me regret my words.
"Just stay here okay?I'll bring you some comfotable clothes" I said and stood up.I took the bag and gave her some clothes.
"But how?" She asked confused.
"I went to your house and took your clothes.I'll let you change" I said and walked away.I wondered what was on her mind.
Did she really want to go away from me?
