"My mom is coming tonight" He said,breaking the silence.
"She won't give up" I sighed. "What should I do?"
"Wait,you will rea-"
"Yes,Kihyun" I cut him off.
"Just pretend to be my girlfriend" He said and patted my back. "Good luck"
"Why are you saying that?" I asked confused.
"My mom is complicated. You'll understand once you see her"
I nodded and let the awkward silence fill the room once again. I don't know why we were so weird with each other.
"What did you do while I wasn't here?" I asked curious.
"Just chiling"
"And sending me messages?"
"That too" He said with an innocent smile.
"Why did you do that? Were you that bored?"
"Its because of my mom, nothing more" He said while looking away.
"Oh" I nodded,trying to hide my disappointment. I wanted to hear him saying something else, but it was all in my head. That sweet and nice Kihyun only existed in my head. "So,I'm leaving again after she goes home"
"No!" He yelled all of a sudden, making me jump."I-I mean-"
"Its okay" I cut him off."I found a place to stay at" I lied.
"Really?And where is that?" He asked suspicious.
"N-Not far"
"You can show me later"
"Yeah" I nodded and faked a smile. Great,I even lied to him. "I need to brush my hair and wash my teeth" I said and stood up.
"Wait" He took my hand, stopping me."You need to look bad in her eyes,so she won't like you"
"Bu-"
"Just do as I say. You need to be disgusting and mean, okay?"
"Okay" I nodded. His plan was good. "What after that?"
"She'll stop thinking I need a girlfriend" He smirked.
"Thats good" I replied uninterested. "But I have to at least brush my hair" I stood up and went to the bathroom. I quickly brushed my hair because I heard a knock on the door. It was probably his mom. I took a deep breath and walked out.
"Mom,this is Jae Hwa" Kihyun introduced. I knew he will change my name so she wouldn't recognize me. I was still "missing".
"Hi" I made a serious face and crossed my arms. "Nice to meet you" I was bad at acting cold, but I tried to be fake.
She raised her elbow."Excuse me?"
"Is this your mom Kihyun?" I asked,ignoring her.
"Yes.I'll bring you a tea" He said. He smiled at me while walking into the kitchen. I quess I was doing it right. I sat down still ignoring her.She awkwardly sat next to me.
"So,Jae Hwa"She started. "What do you do?"
"Nothing" I almost yelled. I don't know why I snapped at her like that . Her face saddened a little at my harsh tone. I felt sad that I had to treat her that way. I sighed and shook my head.
"I'm looking for a job at the moment"
"You are so familiar to me" She suddenly said. "I saw you somewhere before"
"You are mistaken, I-"
"No, I know you" My face went pale as I looked away.
"You are-"
"Here it is" Kihyun came in while carrying a cup of tea. He put it on the table in front of her.
"Whats wrong?" He whispered in my ear as he sat next to me.
"S-She knows" I whispered back.
"I'm pretty sure this isn't the same girl you went on a date with" She said.
"What makes you think that?" He asked jokingly,but I could feel how nervous he was.
"This girl" She said and eyed me. My heart stopped beating.I knew I was done. She knew who I was.
"W-What with her?"
"Is younger" She suddenly smiled. I stared at her confused.
"What?'' Kihyun and I yelled in the same time.
"I'm sure that girl was 2-3 years older than you"
"Yeah" He laughed nervously.
"Who is this girl then?"
"We're jus-" I started, but he cut me off.
"She's my girlfriend"
I stared at him wide-eyed. Did I hear him well? It sounded good when he said it, but it was wrong. As much as I wanted those words to be true, it was wrong.
"Oh.For how long?" His mom asked suprised.
"I'd like to keep it a secret" He said and ignored my questioning stare.
"Do you share a room?"
"Yes we do" He nodded.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier? I wouldn"t send you on a date if I knew you had a girlfriend"
"Its okay,she didn't mind it"
"Are you sure?" She asked and looked at me. Kihyun hit my leg secretly. I whined,but managed to fake a smile.
"Y-Yeah" I stuttered.
"See? She's okay with it" He said.
"Its a bit late don't you think? You should go home"
"You're right. I'll come back again when I find time" She said and stood up. Kihyun and I walked her to the door.
"But" She said as I opened the door for her. I looked at her waiting for her to continue. "I know I've seen you somewhere before"
"You were mistaken mom" Kihyun said.
"I'm not. Goodbye" I bowed to her and closed the door. I turned around and glared at him.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I yelled, making him jump.
"What did I do?" He yelled back.
"Jae Hwa? Your girlfriend? We share a room? Whats next?"
"I did it for your own good! If it wasn't me,you would be sleeping on a bench in the park!"
I stared at him in disbelief. "Maybe I should do that then.Since you're just using me to get rid of your mom" I was about to walk out, when he took my hand and pulled me into his arms.My eyes widened as he tightened his arms around me.
"Shut up" He whispered. "You're not leaving me again"
"K-Kihyun" I called quietly.
"Yeah?"
"I won't leave again"
